I wrote a bad review some time back. Since then I've eaten in Il Fornetto a few more times and it has become one of my favourite restaurants in Tequisquiapan.Pasta and pizza are quite authentic if you are looking for Italian flavour. Only disappointment was the lasagna which I don't recommend. A really good dish that impresses everyone is the Salmon with cilantro sauce. Not very Italian, but delicious nonetheless. Desserts are above average. Best one I've eaten is the German strudel.I recommend eating in the garden since the main room is noisy and dark.As for the service they may get overwhelmed in very busy days, but other than that they are friendly and attentive.Since my first visit Il Fornetto has won me back and I go there 2-3 times every month.
The best pizzas, pastas, paninis, salads, desserts, and imported beers can be enjoyed here, with more than 20 beers from around the world. Come and meet our balloon pizza and be part of this unique experience, nice atmosphere where you can enjoy in a nice

Enjoy authentic dishes and tasty pizzas with wood, made with VAI cheeses, all accompanied by wines, candies and beer from the region.
I visited this Museum/Restaurant on a rainy Sunday afternoon looking for a break inside while it rained outside. It came highly recommended but I cannot pass that recommendation on. The staff were not friendly. The restaurant selections were tradition and overly priced for what you get. The service was EXTREMELY SLOW even though the restaurant was not busy.
Cenamos en Lucca grill por primera vez y fue una muy grata sorpresa. La comida deliciosa, el lugar muy bonito y muy buen servicio. Nos dio mucho gusto encontrar una opción de tan buena calidad en Tequisquiapan. Totalmente recomendable y definitivamente volveremos.

We are constant regulars here! Caterin is the owner, chef, and she welcomes you with a big smile, followed by the absolute best Southern Italian cooking. The menu is impressive indeed and any selection will be scrumptious! The thin crust New York style Pizzas are wonderfully light and all possible toppings are available to design your own pies just your way! Everyone is blown away, eyes squinting with pleasure, as we carefully bite into and taste our piping hot first slice!Really!! It is that good! Tell Caterin that Rick sent you!Caterin recently relocated about 200 meters down the highway from her first location, on the same side of the road. Look for the big royal blue sign across the entire front of the restaurant. You can't miss it and please do not. Great food is hard to find!Caterin loves dogs, so well-behaved dogs are welcome. WIFI is free and fast.

Restaurant-Bar Caprichos french and mexican food. 27 years in your palate. Since 1991 (the place where all your whims come true).
The restaurant does honour the several rewards it has won.Located inside the hotel Casa de los Milagros by the swimming pool which creates a nice environment to enjoy meals that delight. It happened to me that when I looked at the menu, it was hard to decide what to order as everything seemed very good.I finally made up my mind. On my first visit I had the Consomé de Pollo Estilo Xochitl, completely outstanding. A chicken soup served in a medium bowl (vast) with white rice, chicken, avocado cubes and panela cheese cubes. You can savour how all the elements of the soup mix very well giving the soup a delicious taste. For the second course I had the "Enchiladas estilo Tequisquiapan" another vast plate which as soon as you see it, you want to eat it. The sauce in which the tortillas are soaked is subtle but tasteful. The cheese that fills in each enchilada tasted fresh and to round the decoration but also the favours, chopped lettuce with cheese covering the top of the enchiladas. After that meal I knew I wanted to come back.My companions ordered the daily menu which also seemed tasty at first sight and indeed, they were also pleased with their meals. It is also a very good option. The next day we came back, I had the onion soup, to be honest the picture that appears on the menu was very different from the soup I got. Although it had good taste in general, the slices of onion were not enough soft and for that matter the slices were too wide and big. In addition the cheese that covered the soup was not well melted.Nonetheless, for the second course I had Fettuccine in lobster sauce with shrimp. The sauce was creamy with a subtle but noticeable taste of lobster. The pasta was well cooked, "al dente". The shrimp had been grilled and were served with their tails to keep their soft but nice flavour. For dessert strawberries with cream. Sliced strawberries covered with a delicate softly sugared cream.Again my companions ordered the daily menu which is also a good option, as well as tasty and most importantly very complete.I had the chance to see how the owner of the restaurant was watching the little details, helping and teaching the staff which to me was a good sign of the quality of the restaurant. Is not cheap but the cost of the meals is very well worth it. Perhaps what can be said cheap is the daily menu which is also worth it and even though is established, there are a couple of options so that you can choose what you prefer.Very recommendable!

We are the first italian food restaurant stablished in Tequisquiapan.Since 2000 we are the best restaurant, offering always quality, taste and warmth. It is genuine ,traditional food prepared at the moment. It's like you are tasting a little bit of Italy
Well... this food hasn´t to do anything with real italian food, neither with homemade food. My friend and I just ate Pasta, she with tomato sauce and me with creamy salmon sauce and a "homemade tiramisu". Her Pasta was with a transparent tomato sauce, probably out of instant powder or a jar. I mean it neither wasn´t tomato puree because of the flavor, consistency and appearance with (very) cheap and low quality sausage :D well my creamy sauce... I rather now if there was any cream in there at least the flavor and appearance was like instant powder with dried herbs. 2 hours later I still had a very strong Garlic-Granulate-powder in my mouth. The point is I know how to cook and have been eating a lot of Italian food but that was the taste of a school cafeteria. And it´s really not so difficult to do a sauce out of tomato puree, onions, garlic and basil OR onions, garlic, parmesan cheese, herbs and white whine ^^ Even though the cook claimed he was from Venice^^ I also have been in Italy and never had such a bad sauce. I was asking if the Tiramisu was homemade, the service answered yes; but it was made of instant pudding with some cookies. And I also know how to do Tiramisu^^ Even though there isn´t any mascapone available they could do it with cream, vanilla beans and gelantine. The service was quiet nice, the atmosphere ok as well; and the Pasta "al dente".Ofcourse I remember you! germans right? your good effort spanish was difficult to understand and it was a misunderstandig with the waiter who thought that you just asked about if the Amatriciana sauce was spicy or not but you were really ordering it and it came really late... and personaly I think this is the reason of your opinion. It is a shame that you base our quality and prestige in a problem with a language barrier. For us is imposible to use instant powder, cream, tomatos, and all the instant stuff you supposed we used to cook, first of all because those things are impossible to purchase in Mexico, they just don't exist here! But the most important thing is that we've been hardly working for 16 years and the success of our plates is precisely that everything is natural and homemade as you can see in the next opinions. The very strong garlic flavor was caused by fine chopped garlic, not granulate powder. For someone who knows how to cook making a tiramisu with vanilla and gelatine is unthinkable, our tiramisu is a true homemade one using authentic mascarpone. Finallly I remember myself, and my husband the italian chef, going to your table and apologized for the inconvenience of the delay, and asking if everything was fine and your answer was always YES! And sorry, but for someone who didn't like the dinner, asking also for dessert and leaving the dishes almost clean is a little bit incongruous, don't you think? Once again, my apologies for the delay of your pasta.

We loved our food (salad, pasta and pizza). My wife complained the pizza topping was scarce, but she absolutely loved her salad. I enjoyed my pesto pasta very much, and the flavour of the pizza was 100% italian. The service was good, but it was a weekday and we were the only table. We were happy about the experience, and we will be going back.

A few minutes from downtown (Cathedral) Tequisquiapan, you can find this small coffee shop, your nose can probably guide you once you get closer. The bread and desserts, home made of course, are delicious, and to top that, one of the best places in town for espresso, cappuccino, cafe con leche, plain American coffee and/or a variety of hot and cold teas. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your coffee you can ask to talk to the owner and he'll make sure you get exactly what you want. He'll guide you through the flavor, roast balance map so that you get what you want. Service is good, it may be slow sometimes, but very personal. Some afternoons you may be able to listen to a local guitar player, and either he may be playing for the audience or he may be teaching the owner's daughter guitar lessons, in any case, you'll enjoy a great and relaxing atmosphere.
