La Trattoria is open evenings for atmospheric dining a la carte or fixed price menu. Pizzas and pastas are always available. Fresh fish, shellfish and lobsters which are caught locally, all are available according to season. We also have local meat dishes
Had dinner here twice and lunch in the cafe part once. All the food was good. Decor smart and clean. The outstanding thing was how good the staff were. Beautifully turned out in crisp white shirts and trousers they were the epitome of professionalism. On Saturday eve the place was packed but no long waits for food. The staff were bustling around non stop, always doing something. Excellent service.
An independent Cafe/Canteen that produces authentic Italian Pizza, Focaccia, Ciabatta, and handmade Pasta. Everything is produced daily on the premises using organic flour and high-quality ingredients.
Simple, fresh, delicious. How pasta should be. The owner showed us the machine and the special bronze die they use to make their pasta every day. Everything is made to order so the chef was happy to customise the dishes for our children who loved it. Although we didnât have the pizza it looked amazing. What we did have and what was most definitely amazing was the gelato (salted caramel was outstanding). Really friendly and helpful staff and very good value for money. Thank you.

Called in for lunch without booking.Friendly staff greeted us and showed us a table. The menu offered a good choice with some daily specials. We chose lasagne, mussels and cannelloni. We also ordered some drinks.Toilets were in the next door restaurant which was all part of the same building. The drinks came quickly and the food followed shortly.Everything was hot and tasty as well as reasonably priced.Nice place with a pleasant unrushed atmosphere.

A pretty dreadful experience all round really which started pretty much as we walked through the door. There was a heated discussion with the kitchen and front of house as to whether they could accomodate us in their pretty empty business. We were not expecting mind blowing cuisine just a tasty casual meal for a group of 7. Pizza / pasta is pretty hard to get wrong after all - right? Oh how wrong can you be!The waitress assigned to our table explained it was her first shift, she was very pleasant and competent enough but severely hampered by the staff 'supporting' her. After taking our orders the drinks arrived quickly enough but we were informed food would be around 30 minutes, we had ordered some olives for the table, these arrived after 30 minutes with a complimentary additional bowl due to the delay. When our mains arrived things took a further downturn.3 of our group ordered an aubergine based dish which would have failed the trade descriptions act. The menu made no mention of courgette in the dish, however there was clearly a lack of aubergine available so the dish was bulked out with courgette with barely a trace of aubergine. That is not to mention the fact that when ordered the question was asked whether the dish contained parmesan, we were informed the dish was now vegan and didn't contain parmesan. This was then redacted by the waitress who had been given the wrong information from the kitchen. The salad main ordered was originally supposed to have been goats cheese, however my partner was advised prior to serving that there was no goats cheese available. Definitely not a 'sexy' salad as advertised on their uninformative single page website. The calzone's ordered were frankly appalling, 1 was meat, 1 was vegetarian. The meat calzone was supposed to be spicy with chillies on top. I cut into the meat calzone (with chillies on top) and was presented with a pile of mushrooms and veg in a runny white sauce. Clearly the kitchen had been unable to decide which was which. Fortunately the vegetarian member of the group had not yet cut into what was my meat calzone. The pain didn't stop there, the meat calzone was wet inside with watery thin liquid that oozed out when cut into. It was not remotely spicy and was pretty much devoid of any flavour. The only saving grace I suppose was that the individual who ordered a 'classic' style pizza got what they asked for which was declared ok.Unforgiveable that they are unable to determine whether their food is vegan, vegetarian or meat containing and provide wrong info to their frontline serving staff.Whilst none of our group had an specific dietary requirements, god forbid someone with an allergy visits here, it genuinely could be life changing. This place really needs to up it's game!I would not recommend this establishment to anyone based on our experience, just an off day? I think not looking at other reviews. We were not charged for most of our food which was appropriate recompense, however this establishment should be an absolute goldmine with a captive audience. That does not mean you can serve inedible food though!
