Me and the missus haven't been here since the refurb. Decor has been done to a high spec. The staff were very pleasant and informative. A good variety on the menu and we are liking the new opening hours. I had chicken Kiev simply the best and the missus had steak Diane which was equally superb. We can only say we will be back sooner rather than later. Highly recommended.

Visited for the in-laws 50th anniversay in a party of 15. Food as ever was excellent and service attentive and good humoured. Given the numbers involved all dishes were served at the same time...Possible only disappointment was being seated right at the entrance and not at the side of the restaurant meaning we felt very much on show... Nonetheless a lovely restaurant with great food and excellent service.

Final meal before my Canadian family head home. Excellent service, very tasty food and they accommodated my two year old granddaughter with pleasure. I live close to this restaurant but do not use it often, but will do in the future. Highly recommended.

Visited Saturday tea time before the show and canât recommend this place more highly. Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Good choice of beautiful food and reasonably priced. David was so personable and ensured my three friends and I were well looked after. He also kept an eye on the time for us so we werenât late for the show. Will definitely visit again.

Food was good, had the roast lamb which was a good sized portion and very tasty. However service throughout was poor. Long wait to order mains, didnât bring drinks we ordered (had to chase) and were left waiting after main course. Restaurant wasnât heaving, so surprised at level of service.

Visited for dinner with my 81 year old mam. We were served by June and I believe Katya. We had pasta and the special, âCatch of the Dayâ sea bass. I also had spiced broccoli, which was so good! And we shared the caramelised onion garlic bread. And.... sticky toffee pudding! The Scullery food is fabulous. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, perfect for winter nights and candlelit dinner. Weâll be back soon!

Mid-week family visit when on holiday. Rustic environment, nothing that a lick of paint wouldn't cure. However staff not generally not interested in what I was ordering. Menu was basic UK adapted Italian. We ordered Muscles (wine/garlic) - very bland. Also the chicken Milanese didn't come with any napoli sauce (so basically dried deep fried chicken in breadcrumbs) - had to order the sauce seperatly (at cost). The restaurant would also not swap out chips with spaghetti - how unaccommodating. Only saving thing was the home double cooked (I presume) chips were nice to accompany my chicken/white wine main.Uneventful food/atmosphere/restaurant. Surely others are better.....As soon as I read âstaff not interested in what I was orderingâ I realised this review is simply not genuine. How muscles or rather mussels can be bland when served with garlic is mystifying. Pollo Milanese is not served with tomato, leastways not where the owner of Tosca comes from, which is actually Italy, yes a real Italian running an Italian restaurant, a rarity these days. Wonât bother responding to the rest of this review which is obviously from a competitor.TA just look to the previous review if you want a genuine Tosca experience, not this tissue of lies.

My friend and I were on a business trip to Sunderland and booked at San Marino's after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, That was a good idea because the restaurant was full when we arrived. We were quickly brought our wine and a plate of delicious homemade Foccacia bread. What a lovely touch! You could also buy the bread to take home... We decided to have the hot sharing platter which was amazing - and would probably have fed a family of four!! Pasta to follow (plus a shared salad). I had the sea food pasta - which was to die for. We were the last ones in the restaurant but the lovely staff did not rush us and were chatting with us as we finished our meal leisurely.we could not recommend this restaurant enough - very reasonable, a great evening and hopefully another business trip will mean we can go back! Thank you Colin & team.
