Visited Downtown several times during a stay in Glen Cove - and overall rating is really 3.5. More of a pub than a restaurant, but good portions, OK food and friendly staff. There is a separate pizza restaurant next door that can be used as an over flow if the restaurant is busy. The full menu is available in both restaurants. Also good value for money with good prices across the menu. Parking close, with a car park opposite and another just up the road. Not for fine dining, but a good 'cant be bothered to cook' option if your feeling lazy!

Old world charm and service. Excellent food. The homemade pasta, fork tender veal, and wonderful desserts are well known in this town of many Italian restaurants. Do have reservations here and expect a fantastic meal, you wonât be disappointed.

It was a freezing weekday night so the restaurant wasn't exactly crowded. The owner (?) was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered something unusual, at least for me. It was a combination of pasta with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes - served hot - sort of a hot caprice salad on noodles. It was excellent, but could have been hotter. I'd go back.

We had dinner here on an early Sunday and were the first in the dining room . It is a nice, cozy place with a simple , but thorough menu . The clams and mussels were both very good as appetizers- the fradiavolo sauce had a nice amount of heat . The Veal dishes at the table were very tender , and the Frutti Di Mare was also enjoyed. I was only ok with the cannoli and espresso . All in all , a very nice experience -w would come again

Fritto misto was excellent; crunchy but not dry-very few shrimps. Wild mushrooms were very good but surprisingly did not have any chanterelles. The halibut was well prepared but served very very small portion. The country veal was delicious, but it was disappointing that it was served with tasteless potatoes and broccolis (over cooked or over heated)-what about pasta? Desserts; we ordered housemade, but the tiramisu was hard, no taste, stuck in a small martini shaped glass! The service was very minimal.

Love this place! Has great Italian food and thin crust pizza. The pizzas are very large and so is the garlic bread (also pizza shaped!). This restaurant is perfect for a night out for dinner and a movie. The movie theatre is right across the street. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the price and the ability to reheat the pizza. The food is a little pricey so this is not our normal âgo toâ place for pizza. We really go to treat it ourselves for a night out or picked. Also for 2 people it is a large amount of pizza which we usually reheat the next day. This pizza just doesnât reheat great which is kinda a bummer.

In this new era of high energy restaurants(read: unbearably noisy, and impossible to dine as couples) some months ago we decided to try our old favorites. La Bussola, though perhaps dated in it's decor, is decidedly an old world restaurant in the best sense. The service though sometimes inconsistent, is gracious, welcoming and unhurried, where you can spend the entire evening. The drinks are generous, The food is always excellent , plated beautifully, and the menu very fairly priced, the one exception being if you order pasta on the side-disproportionate.

La Spezia is a family style restaurant.... Go with at least four people to experience some variety. Even the half portions serve more than one person. Pasta dishes were very good. Many offerings of chicken and veal. Service professional with good descriptions of nightly specials.

DiMaggio's Trattoria serves Old World traditional dishes in a friendly, casual, atmosphere. We are committed to preparing food with only the finest and freshest ingredients. Open 7 days a week lunch and dinner
Very cute and tastefully decorated. The food was excellent! Generous portions. Owner came over and introduced himself to our table. The waiters are very attentive. Great for date night or family dinners. Last night was our first visit and will definitely not be the last.

Oh, where have you been and how come I have just recently found you??!!! Real, old world Italian Restaurant with food that any foodie would drool over. Service is outstanding from filling water glasses to making sure every need it met without hovering. They start you with a basket of garlic bread smothered in garlic and crispness. Then a plate of cheese, olives and sliced meat are served. And we have not even ordered yet! Two of us had the shrimp fra diavolo (one was gluten free) and both were spectacular! The branzino was cooked to moist perfection and the veal marsala melted in your mouth. We were all members of the clean plate club-it was that good!
