Scharnitz is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol located16.4 kilometres (10.2 mi) north of Innsbruck and 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from Seefeld in Tirol on the German border. It is one of the largest municipalities and has 10 parts: Au, Eisack, Gießenbach, Inrain, Jägerviertel, Oberdorf, Schanz, Schießstand, Siedlung, Unterdorf. The village was founded in the early Middle Ages and was once an important commercial route between Germany and Italy. The main source of income is tourism, both in summer and winter. Scharnitz is the western entry point to the Hinterau valley, where the source of river Isar is located.

Called in without a reservation but they found us a table nonetheless, Lovely quaint restaurant with really friendly staff. Food was excellent and service was fast. This little place has surprised us a lot - fresh food, made on the spot, delicious pizzas and the weekly menu was just out of this world! The owners are very very welcoming and caring, we hesitated first, if we should stay for a late lunch, but it was a pleasant surprise when we tasted the dishes. Recommended to everyone visiting Mittenwald!!

We spent a great evening there last week, its located in the high street and easy to find, we ordered pizzas and were certainly not disappointed, they were huge for a start but plenty of topping and thin crust which is what we love, the staff, Italians don't disappoint and they certainly didn't here , great food, friendly staff just great.

The interior is homely and inviting, staff friendly and quick. Limited food choices if you are looking for gluten free and vegetarian but what they have is nice. This was our third time in Seefeld and we always come to this restaurant at least once and we will be back next year.

Wonderful!! Beautiful paintings inside top of Amalfi, cosy wooden tables, nice lighting. Great service. Really cool menuâs in a newsletter style. Daily specials as well. Couldnât decide what to order as it all looked amazing! We had the delicious seafood spaghetti, the grilled entrecôte and the pheasant. All wonderful!

After a second visit to La Locanda, we have only positive remarks. It may look plain from the outside, but inside is delightful. Service has been excellent, prices inexpensive to moderate, with a menu to satisfy just about anyone. We've tried the pasta arrabiata, pasta with garlic, oil and pepper, as well a pizza. All sure to please. The mozerella bruschetta is a great, and very reasonably priced.For Italian in Mittenwald, La Locanda is our go-to place.

One word: amazing! This place is amazing! My risotto was simply delicious. The seafood in it was fresh tasting and really added to the overall enjoyment of the dish! My wifeâs pizza was extremely good, especially the crust! We would definitely come back again and again!

Auf der Durchreise ereilte uns der Hunger und wir entdeckten das Restaurant Zum Kirchplatzl.Leider konnten wir nicht die erwarteten Köstlichkeiten Pizza & Co testen, da wir 10 Tage vor Ende der Saison kurz vor Schluss der warmen Küche ( Mittags bis 14:00 Uhr) angekommen sind. Das Lokal war leer, der alte Zigarettenrauch stand noch im Raum. Wir wurden mit groÃen Augen ob unseres Wunsches nach einer Kleinigkeit zu essen empfangen. Es wäre wohl möglich gewesen etwas zu bekommen, aber nachdem auch der Wunsch nach Kartenzahlung verneint wurde, sind wir direkt an die weiteren Lokale im Ort verwiesen worden.Wer hier Essen möchte, sollte in der Saison mit genügend Bargeld und auch bitte pünktlich sein. Und danach hier schreiben, wie es geschmeckt hat, weil wir das nicht testen konnten.

Scharnitz is limit in quantity and quality of restaurants. Best place for dinner overall, although mainly pizza, is this place. Nice atmosphere, possible to eat outside, price and quality makes it a good place to stay.

We had just arrived in Scharnitz and walked from our hotel to dinner. The restaurant we chose was horrible, and we had to leave after waiting for 90 minutes for food that never arrived. Needless to say we were hungry as we had traveled all day from Munich. So we decided to stop in at Bella Vista. It was late, but the server invited us in, took our order, and brought our food within minutes. Such a delight after our disaster at Alte Muhle. The food was good, and the server/manager was a delight. I recommend this establishment highly.
