Buone materie prime. Servizio gentile.

Ciao

We've returned here this year. We compared this restaurant with other ones we passed walking, this one had a signigicant larger menu. For the kids, there was Kaiserschmarren - lovely pancakes. We had a pasta and a plate of local meats and cheeses. Lovely.

The Braunwirt has everything I want in a restaurant: a relaxed atmosphere, well-informed servers (who are not, however, 'hovery' or obtrusive), a wide selection of open wines, and food that is classically satisfying but with an interesting twist. We enjoyed the Braunwirt's 6-course tasting menu, which provides a wonderful introduction to the local specialities of the South Tyrol. The next time, though, I might just order a double portion of the pumpkin ravioli and sink into happy oblivion. The prices are reasonable, considering the high quality of the ingredients, the cooking and the presentation. The Braunwirt is located on the town square in Sarnthein, the main town in the lovely Val Sarentino, just north of Bolzano. This is a great place to visit, especially in the fall. Well worth a detour!

Unbeatable scenery when sitting outside on the veranda, overlooking the idyllic mountain scenery with lake Durnholz, farms on steep hills and mountain tops in the background. The food is great, the service could be faster.

We had lunch at Bad-Schorgau as during a top on a vintage car tour. It was an eye opening experience. The dishes were traditional but each had a twist that made it a delicious new experience. Wild spinach in the ravioli was luscious. You must try the dishes with the regional essential oil of dwarf pine. Its nothing like you would imagine - just wish they would sell bottles of it or the pine butter.

The problem with Terra is: being so incredibly outstanding, so creative and so inhumanely professional...they will spoil many future restaurant visits of yours! I mean it :-)Think you have a favorite high end restaurant in the world? Most probably a Terra visit will turn it to 2nd favorite only.Other */**/*** Michelin restaurants you've enjoyed in the past will seem simply "cute" compared to the sheer power and sophistication of Terra."Comparable" restaurants you'll visit in the future, where everybody else at the table will be crying with pleasure will be "good enough, but not Terra".Luckily, we all tend to forget. So the memory of such perfection is fading away slowly but surely. You'll start doubting your memory and you, as I did, might think that their perfection was a matter of momentary emotion. Until you return and rediscover: It's not!Two years after my first visit, I am spoiled again with the memory and the "burden" of perfection...and yet I'm not sure I want this memory to go away!To the Schneider family: my deepest thanks for another moment of pure perfection!
