Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Salou. Salou, on the Costa Dorada, nestles between quaint Cambrils and calm La Pineda. Just seven miles south of elegant Tarragona, the compact resort town is a family favorite, due in no small part to the existence of Port Aventura and Aquopolis theme parks. Gentle beaches and a slew of exciting fiestas in August add to Salou's appeal for families.

We visited twice. The first night we were just about the only customers and the service was excellent. The barman even went out to find a variety of fruit juice my son wanted, that they didn't have in stock. We went back the next night, probably a bit later in the evening, and this time it was rammed. We had to wait for a table and the service was patchy. It's only a small place and the staff seemed to be overrun. They had also run out of some food options and most of the drinks we would have ordered - not quite sure what was going on there! The food was very good: pizza, risotto, lasagne. There is a huge variety of pasta on the menu and it seemed like authentic Italian recipes.

Braseria Restaurant. Newly opened in June 2016, very close to the beach, with a menu of grilled meats and gourmet burgers, pizzas and tapas.
The food in this place was so good, I had the chicken & vegetable paella but I asked for it with no chicken. It was really nice. We also had onion rings & the boca boca burger which my partner said was amazing.Cocktails were lovely too. The only bad thing was the service, it was so slow. I know they were trying there best but for the amount of people in there and the staff ratio just wasnât ok. Other then that it was nice and I would return.

Good pasta ....service could be better. Was sheâs before we were even acknowledged let alone shown a menu ...we were on the verge of walking out. Our pasta was delicious ...customer service left us a bit cold ...seems quite commonplace in Salou. Bordering on rude ....

The menu had mostly Italian style food and you could create your own pasta dishes by choosing a type of pasta and whatever sauce to have with it. I had gnochi with a tomato, bacon and onion sauce. It was very good. My starter was a platter with very thinly sliced beef, sprinkled with rocket and chees and drizzled with a nice dressing; served with a home-made focacio bread which was delicious. The house red was excellent

Great location just off the main sea front, very busy but great organizational skill by the staff who made sure that everyone got seated and made to feel special. Great atmosphere , not hurried to finish and move on from the table....will definitely go back..especially for the added bonus of a gratuitous lemoncello
