We were sent here on our first night of our holiday. It was just what we wanted - friendly, authentic food, variety, cheap! We were welcomed by the daughter of the family who speaks English and was excited to practice her skills with us. She talked us through the menu and we ordered pasta, mixed grilled seafood and a generous salad. We have been back since and are going back tonight for a pizza by the metre! Friendly atmosphere, good wine, great food and a local presence which is nice as we don't like to be in the tourist hotspots.

typical and traditional cuisine based on fresh fish. We work an booking and if you have special requests we can make it all. You are welcoming. Thank you il paisiello
We ate dinner at this restaurant, primi of a spaghetti con cozze and scrigni agli scampi then fillet scottona for secondi, Nergoamara red wine and local ice cream for desert. All the food was freshly cooked, delicious pasta dishes and tender scottona. The restaurant was busy and the waiters were attentive. The chef came around to check what we had thought of the food after wards - nice touch.

Straightforward very good and inexpensive trattoria recommended by our hotel for a 'get us fed' dinner. Nothing fancy but excellent quality, decent cooking and good ingredients. We stuck to antipasti, pasta and pizza, all were excellent as was the house red, best of all was the bill! 100% recommended.

We were in a rush, but hungry, and late to each lunch in Puglia! It was just after 14:30 when most restaurants close or won't serve you, but they welcomed us in anyway. There was only one other table occupied. We let the waiter know that we had another appointment at 15:00, and he said no problem. No menus we're offered. He suggested fresh pasta -- paccheri with cozze and seafood in a tomato sauce and gnocchi with a gorgonzola sauce for the non-fish lover in our group. Both served fast, perfectly cooked and were quite tasty. No time for dessert or coffee, but he brought wonderful almond cookies on the house. Delicious, filling fast food, Italian style! Will return for a full meal soon.

Piatti non solo buonissimi, ma presentati in modo originale. Ambiente accogliente e con dettagli curati. Lo chef è un mago dei fornelli.

small and pleasant place recommended to us by the local wineries. Run by a close knit family, each of them intimately involved with the running of this wonderful casual restaurant.Everything is delightfully fresh, and just so well delicately spiced. And such good value

This is not our first visit to the Canape in Salice Salentino. We have been here many times before and are never dissappointed so felt I should share our experience. The food is excellent and the prices are good. There seems to be the same chap each time we go serving and he always recognises us even though it was a year since our last visit. He is friendly and great at giving advise on what to order. We are going back to Italy in September so will definately be eating here.

La Roscia te lu Fucalire is a pizzeria Salento speciality, with a wonderful view to focalire where you can taste the delicious meats
High season might not have started yet (start of July and does it really matter?) but we were faced with a number of dishes which were not available. Very disappointing when you've set your mind on a course. Classic Vitello Tonato as a starter was straight forward disappointing. Other starters and main courses were fine. Besides certain dishes that were not available, apparently the same was valid for red wine (in Apulie!!!). We ordered 1 liter of the house red but we were served the rosé. To our luck the rosé was excellent ( especially taken into account the price of EUR 4.50 / ltr).
