L'Etale

8 of us went to L’Etale for dinner. We booked, which was a good job as it was busy, even in the last week of the ski season. The children lived their food - including the milkshakes!! The adults kept to the traditional ski menu, cheese, potatoes, ham, bacon etc.... all was very tasty. The atmosphere was lively, which was great as our children are quite loud! So they went unnoticed. A must visit location if you are with children.

Le Mont De Grange

Easy to pass by this small unpretentious restaurant on a busy road, but my daughter and son in law are locals,so we visited it for a Saturday lunch and received a warm welcome. Pizzas seem to be their mainstay, but there is a good choice of other things. All the food was good with an interesting choice and CafeGourmand to finish was excellent.Thank you vert much. See you d’Henri you come back to Abondance.

Le Tyrolien

We have been here twice now whilst on a skiing holiday. Both times we went in person to book and the owner was offish and plain rude. Nevertheless we gave her the benefit of the doubt. The meal itself was ok not fantastic and we had to ask for water though we could see other tables were given this automatically. But basically that staff are just a bit snooty and unnecessarily so. The owner replies in English even though you speak in French. Service was slow and when we paid there was no thanks just perfunctory receipt left on table. No thanks or goodbye on our way out. It just has an air of arrogance - ‘we know we’ll be busy anyway so don’t need to bother with manners’ type of attitude. We won’t be visiting again they just don’t deserve the business.
