Returned to Basta after many years. This was a pleasant experience. It is a simple and small cafe featuring Italian cuisine.Had a very tasty steak tartare with arugula and figs. My husband enjoyed a most unusual spaghettini with nuts and a light green sauce. It was the nightly pasta special. Not a pesto sauce. The service was good. The open kitchen is wonderful to watch. You will see your meal being prepared with great care.Glad we gave it a second chance.

Do you love Italian cooking? Then visit âGildoâs Ristoranteâ. Select internationally renowned chefs prepare authentic Italian dishes here. The restaurant was named after our Maître dâhôtel Gildo Bocchini, who was one of the hosts at the Palace since the 1
I was worried after having a mixed experience at the Grill at the Palace. I was expecting an average food, pricey with somewhat of a pompous service. To my good surprise, the menu was quite extensive and the food excellent. Pasta Gildo, veal milanese and legato ala venezia were all perfect. The service was efficient and professional. So far my experience of the Palace restaurants are that the Grand Restaurant and Gildo's have their act together with excellent cuisine and service as to be expected in this hotel. At la Fromagerie and the Grill, my experience was disappointment (see the specific reviews)

a real nice Italian restaurant, with good choices and normal prices. Staff is also very good. We would recommend this place.

Best Pizzeria in town! Family-friendly Restaurant with sunny terrace. Italian and Swiss food. Open all year. Free parking in front of Hotel.
We decided to stay in the hotel to eat dinner and it was actually quite nice. The restaurant was very full, so they must be doing something right (allaying our concerns that only 2 reviews existed on Trip Advisor). It was a lively place, several groups of 6-7 people, several tables of 2-4 persons, and a few children here and there. It is very cute, nice, and comfortable. My husband and I had pasta dishes that we both great. Son had a pizza with shrimp. We had nice wine and cocktails and very good dessert. The "small" salad was quite large, very fresh and great dressing. Yummy. Nice bread.Considering how expensive everything is in Gstaad, this was a very reasonable meal and it was quite good. I would definitely recommend - unless you want to "live large" and money is no object. I am sure there are other restaurants in town that cater to the more exclusive set.

A few steps away from Gstaad,in a cozy and lively taste environment, we find "The Niche" Restaurant-Bistro. A kitchen attention to detail, attentive to the quality of its raw materials with a great rediscovery of the traditions and the enhancement of typi

The pizza (Margarita, Inferno) is pretty average stuff apart from the price, which is 50%-60% on top of what we have paid for real good pizza elsewhere. The furniture is a funny mix of new wood (that fits nicely) and old dark wood (not aged just ugly). The service is old style Italian with the Capo coming out to welcome his regular guests and hardly realizing the others. Guess we won't make it to the guest's premier league based on the experience.

Nice atmosphere, excellent and friendly service, truly great pasta (do try the fusili - or spaghetti - with seafood!!), lovely shrimp tartare with mango and avocado to start and, yes, a memorable, imaginatively presented panna cotta! We shall definitely return when next in Gstaad!!
I stumbled on this great restaurant and I was not disappointed. Whilst exploring this delightful town, my friends and I visited a plaque commemorating, Lady Diana's brief sojourn in a finishing school in Rougemont in 1977.The Italian restaurant on the street looked attractive and I asked the manager if he had a table available, he told me that the only possibility was to finish dining before 8:45pm. I chose a Vitello Tonato and shared a pasta and salad. The food was very good and the headwaiter recommended an excellent Italian red wine, Villa Antinori Rosso 2014. We had barely finished eating, when a large number of clients filled the restaurant, interestingly they were locals, not tourists like myself.

Everything looks nice, the menu promises good food - and the previous posts on Trip Advisor are also inviting to visit this place.Today the one person that should welcome guests did exactly the opposite, when I entered the Restaurant. A waiter? The owner? He already looked annoyed in the first place, then changed his mind half-heartedly and offered me a place on the terrace - the only without sun shade and this on a 30 C degree day. Strangely enough half of the premises was empty. What was the reason? Because I was single? Because I had my dog with me? In any case such behaviour is completely unacceptable. We did find then another spot in Rougement that offered a solid service - and the opposite of the Braconnier. On our way to Montreux, we definitely hope for better experiences!

Pricey, but worth every centime. The meat is out of this world, and the views are divine. Good service and dog friendly.
