My parents have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. I was with them visiting relatives in Riverside and they said we should go eat at this restaurant. Only an hour out of the way in traffic! Okay I said and boy was I glad. The bread on the table was the best and we all ordered the meat manicotti and it was delicious. We all took some home as after eating bread and salad it would be difficult to finish your entre. Claudia the order is a hard worker and food was delicious!

I love supporting these old family establishments but this one left me empty at the end. I ordered the half and half spaghetti and meat ravioli house special and my lady a boring side salad. They bring fresh delicious room temperature bread to the table with soft butter squares. I rate restaurants on their bread service and if it isn't warmed up or baked they receive one less point. My plate of food was okay and nothing spectacular, my lady did not like the ravioli so another point lost. The waitress was nice but she never came back to check on us, more water, dessert, or something else ?
They have very little prepared food.but as a market they are definitely 5 stars. Their prepared subs and pastries are as good as you will get in any Italian restaurant, but that is not their main business. Their meat/cheese/deli counter is amazing. They not only have an enormous variety of imported Italian cheese and domestic Italian-style cheese, but several types of cheddar, Swiss, and other varieties you would find in a supermarket.Their canned and jarred section is enormous. Many kinds of olives, capers, peppers, soups, sauces, on and on.They have an enormous variety of dry pasta. If you have seen a shape or a flavor somewhere else, they probably have it.They also have an extensive variety of frozen raviolis, sauces, traditional Italian dishes and pastries. They have some pots and table linens as well. I have put together some very appreciated wedding and house warming gifts from their stock (I did have to get wrappings and ribbons elsewhere--they don't carry that). If you are from the east coast, you probably would enjoy the aromas from the moment you enter.

The Petrillo's family name in the San Gabriel Valley area means quality food and good service. Many of it's dishes have been passed down through the generations in this family run establishment located on Las Tunas Drive in the changing community of Temple City. With the influx of Asian eatery's locally this longtime standby offers old world traditional Italian food in a very comfortable setting. Food is all freshly made (therefore it takes a bit longer) and you can taste the difference.
