A must go. A MUST!!!!! the food is just superb - all along the years - the pastas are delicate and light (all home made) the antipasti, crisp and fresh. The main courses (meats) are exquisite and different from the usual Tuscan dishes. the deserts are....wow1. Very good house wine and extended Tuscan wine selection. The service is fast and the owner will personally describe the menu to you. If you want to eat more than one meals, Aiuole has rooms....
This Is A Little Hotel As Well As A Restaurant
Passed through Roccalbegna, which is a gem by its own right, and were looking for a nice place to have dinner on our last day in Italy. From the outside it is not a big deal, you even need to pass through the kitchen and office on the way to the dining room. But what an exquisite experience it was!The menu is changed daily based on the availability of local organic produce, from wild boar to thistle, some of it is self grown in the back yard by this family who operates the restaurant for the 6th generation already. We had an entreé of marinated artichokes and olives, four side dishes (thistle cake, fried artichokes, green salad and steamed turnip leaves), two main dishes (wild boar and lamb white lasagna, which was the bes lasagna I ever had), two desserts (we took egg custard parfait and white coffee ice cream, really hard choice but we could as well have any other desert!). We also got on-the-house crastinnies hors d'oeuvres and dessert wine which is, like the olive oil, made by the owner. For the whole deal we left there only 65 Euros! I marked it as "$$" pricy on this review because it is not a fast food restaurant, but in terms of value-for-money it was NOTHING!The staff is very friendly and English is not a problem. We had a tour in the hotel rooms, which are just above the restaurant, and I'll surely go out of my way to stay there on my next trip to Italy!

This is it, amazing simple dishes with fresh local produce made with real care. Someone recommended this restaurant to us and we were not disappointed to the point of coming back two days later. The food was generously served and tasted amazing. In between the 3 of us we must have tried most of the fresh pastas. Tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, pici with mushroom and sausage, gnocchi with gorgonzola... all tasted really good but the gold medal were the tagliolini with fresh truffles...a delight! The meat was also really tasty, perfectly cooked and of very high quality. The house wine might be a tad more expensive than other places but it is an organic wine that unlike most places tasted good. You can tell the owner Carlo is a really passionate cook and a real character. The settings is also very nice and the relaxed attitude of the waiters made us feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant. 5 stars.

Had often driven by but never stopped here, somewhat concerned by other reviews talking of grumpy service. Stopped for lunch on Christmas day and had a wonderful time. Outstanding, prompt and truly warm service, timing of courses was just right. Had the mixed antipasto, then a truly outstanding plate of gnocchetti gorgonzola, rucola e noci, and then a roast pork fillet with artichokes. Very good carafe wine (local Morellino) and homemade deserts. No complaints about my baby daughters wandering around being friendly :-)

A dip in Tuscan cuisine, the real one, made of strong flavors. A lunch totally based on porcini mushrooms. Pici with porcini mushrooms, fillet of chianina beef with porcini mushrooms caps and fried porcini mushrooms. Fresh and high quality ingredients. The fillet with porcini caps is amazing, the beef is divine, porcini mashrooms are excellent. Each dish is prepared with care. Nice ambience of rustic style, good service. Highly recommended.

i we have really enjoyed going to 'da noi a cana'... on numerous occasions! the welcome and service is always heartfelt - your hosts are present, professional and accommodating with all your wishes! they also cater for vegetarian and gluten-free customers. we all have enjoyed our meals- ranging from a fantastic 'schweinshaxn' at the Octoberfest (what a hoot! do go!) to a falling-off-your-plate sized delicious seafood 'starter' (i dare you to be able to eat anything else after that...) garnished with rolling hills and olive groves on a summer's night on this one of a kind terrace .... the setting is special! they have done a great job with renovations of this property- and i adore the chandeliers in the double volume Loos! :-) Da-noi-a-cana & team; THANK YOU! we'll be back, LOTS and LOTS of times!

La Grotta is the nearest restaurant and pizzeria to our holiday home near Roccalbegna, so we do visit it often. We went three times this trip in both May and June. We always have a pizza and they are always great. When we first started going, ten years ago, it was never busy, now it is wise to book. This is, for us, a good sign, as it means the Roccalbegna area is thriving now with both locals visiting and tourists. La Grotta is not just a pizzeria but a trattoria too and Lucia is a fine chef and has transformed the place. If you go please leave room for her wonderful desserts too. See you again soon Lucia e grazie mille. Denzil grazieeee!!! Sei sempre molto carino e gentile, come tua moglie,mi fa piacere che apprezziate il nostro locale e la nostra cucina,ti ringrazio per le gentili parole e ti saluto con simpatia e a presto spero!! ;O)

Little Tuscan tavern located in the heart of Monte Amiata, in the Southern Tuscany. The menu is strictly bounded to the Tuscan cooking and all dishes are prepared by following traditional recipes. The ingredients are selected with great passion, searching
Great restaurant set in a quaint village we came across on the way back to pienza from saturnia. The manager and chef were very friendly, good honest people, the house wine was delicious, the tiramisu and pannacotta to die for and just 3 euros! The mushroom and ham pizza was so good we had to order another one! Definitely no tourist trap!Thank you so much for your review. We chose for our costumers a short menu in order to provide an high food's quality.
