Purmerend ( pronunciation (help·info)) is a municipality and a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The city is surrounded by polders, such as the Purmer, Beemster and the Wormer. The city became the trade center of the region but the population grew relatively slowly. Only after 1960 did the population start to grow from around 10,000 to around 80,000 by the 2010s. From the 1960s onwards, Purmerend has seen major expansion and continues to do so. This expansion has turned Purmerend into a commuter town; many inhabitants of Purmerend (14,200 in 2011), work, go to school or spend their leisure time in Amsterdam. Purmerend is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.

Afgelopen maandag even met mijn op pad geweest in het winkelcentrum van Purmerend. En dan scoren we ook heel vaak even een ijsje bij Multi IJs.. wat hebben ze toch heerlijk ijs.. veel verschillende soorten en smaken en een goede en leuke bediening!!!Absoluut een aanrader!!!

Although the restaurant interior is a little bit outdated it remains to be a nice and intimate restaurant. We ordered 1 Pizza Napolitana and 1 Siciliana and we enjoyed them. This is how a pizza should be served. Half a caraf of Merlot accompanied the pizza very well. We shal certainly come back to Nerone

Had outside tables but were not being served. Seem crazy every other place was filled with people. Food and service as good+. The only down side was they only took cash. No CC. In today's world who does not take a CC. this is NL not Germany.

Based on a review my wife read we decided to visit this place (not really in the neighborhood for us), because for some it is the best Italian restaurant they have ever been. The place is a bit away from everything but easy to find, my kids decided to have some pizza and we had some pasta. We were all happy with the quality and the taste, however I was a bit disappointed with quantity in my dish (not big enough for the price they ask). We have experienced it as between average and very good, not as special as other people have talked about it.

Brasserie 1434 is een mooi restaurant op de Koemarkt in Purmerend. Wij waren hier met zân twaalven dus grote groep. We hadden een 6 gangen diner van Wl deals. Alle gerechten waren lekker alhoewel de pasta over cooked was. Vooraf hadden wij een pommedorie soep met een bruschetta , erg lekker. Daarna carpaccio op een papadump , ook lekker. Daarna kon je kiezen tussen zalm of een stukje vlees, beide waren erg smakelijk. Ikzelf had vlees in een heerlijke jus. De pasta was met een beetje peper en zout okay maar over cooked. Dat was het enige minpuntje. Bediening was aardig maar twee meiden voor de hele zaak is te weinig, lange tussen poses tussen de gerechten wat uiteindelijk een lange zit werd.Conclusie is leuk restaurant en eten lekker. Prijzen zijn normaal.

Chef Raffaele went all the way! He made us feel special. A four course dinner with delicate dishes and duck liver, not too much, nor too little and all the tastes matched subtly and perfectly. Our table companions, who are seasoned travellers, were equally impressed. A Pinot Grigio and a Barolo completed this top dining experience.The price is mid-range, but the value is fine dining.

Every time I have dinner here, it is a pleasure. An italian restaurant, but not of the kind of a simple pizza how delicious that may be, but every time again a delicious 6-8 course surprise diner with a superb wine arrangement that makes the diner sublime.... be sure to have someone with you to drive....
