Our business group was recommended Anna's after a long morning of meetings. We took their advice and enjoyed lunch at Anna's, a welcome break from fast food and snacking. I opted for something light and easy, the tuna sandwich. It was served on warm bread and was perfect. The group enjoyed a variety of dishes from the menu, each was served promptly and no one seemed disappointed in their choice.

If you are on lunch hour or in a hurry, they have several choices of pizza by the slice available. Also Vinnyâs has very good salads to go. When I order a whole pie I tend towards the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza or the meat lovers pizza. This is the best Pizza in Newport News (unless you tend towards the fat doughy deep dish Chicago style pizza) There are pepperoni rolls available too, if you are looking for something smaller. The garlic knots are always hot and fresh. For desert you can find authentic zeppolis. Note that they are closed on Sundays.

Daughter got me a pepperoni takeout since I was out of commission from surgery. Big, hot and tasty. Hadnt been here before but worth a second visit.

I wasn't impressed with this place. From the photos, it looks upscale, intimate, and quaint. It's located at the end of a market strip plaza. The calarmari was overcooked, the crab & vegetable soup was missing crab and vegetables. I consisted of majority cheddar based broth. My lasagna was also very bland and very soft.

Al Fresco Restaurant lets you feast on a bountiful array of Italian specialties. The outstanding menu, featuring pasta, chicken, veal and seafood, highlights a spectrum of lavish Italian specialties that are sure to please discriminating palates. Al Fresc
Located in a NN strip mall with colorful Italian wall décor, white linen tablecloths and black napkins provides a soothing atmosphere. Brian was our server of 12! Canât say enough about his service or the food. Both were excellent! With such a large group, he was very attentive and prompt to our every request and remembered customerâs names with a smile. He was polite and professional. A definite asset to this restaurant. (BTW, I donât even know this young man, just that he provides excellent service). Each of our entrees arrived hot and there were no complaints among any of us. I got the eggplant parmigiana and it was prepared to perfection. The eggplant had been battered and fried, placed atop the drained pasta and then the delicious marinara sauce was added. It was impressive to get a spaghetti dish w/o watery noodles!

I don't understand why really good pizza in Hampton Roads is so hard to find. Marco's is the best we've had, but it's still not perfect. (I gave it "above average," but that is considering the area. Most anywhere else, and I could give no better than "average.") The dough has a good chew and the sauce is tasty. The put the onions and mushrooms on the pizza raw (not even certain they cook the onions and mushrooms on the pizza itself). In any case, we will be back, but are still looking for that really great pizza around here. I just won't order any veggies on my pizza next time. The "old world" pepperoni is really good (and I don't like pepperoni).

Ordered carryout pizza (half cheese/half pepperoni). Nothing remarkable about it at all. Wife thought sauce was plain tomato sauce, no detectable seasoning in sauce or on crust. I'm not a pizza snob, but I'd prefer (my favorite chain) Marco's Pizza to this 10 out of 10 times.

Tried to give this place a fair shake, but it comes up short on food quality and customer service. Some friends like it, so when in town we have gotten food to go at least three times. All three times, something goes wrong with the phone order. Something forgotten, order was way late or as was the case last time, they forgot the order completely. The owner, Ernesto in all three cases never seemed bothered by the errors or willing to make it right or even apologize. The food is only average and not worth the hassle and indifferent attitude. Three strikes and you're out.

The pizzas we ordered lived up to this restaurantâs reputation. The combination pizza in particular, was pleasing and flavorful. We had one pizza with Canadian bacon, which was mostly good, though the Canadian bacon didnât taste all that great. The menu items are priced fairly, with prompt and friendly service by the staff.

Visiting relatives and they took me to Annaâs for dinner. Had wonderful spaghetti and meat sauce. My aunt had baked ziti and my uncle had angel hair pasta with meatballs. Our our meals were delicious. Split a house salad with my aunt. Enjoyed the homemade Italian dressing. Fast service, great family atmosphere and reasonable prices. It was pizza night so the place was filling up and lots of pizzas being served and ordered as take out. Very evident why the locals love it.
