Tempo Perso INDIPENDENT ITALIAN EATERY In April 2014, the people of Edinburgh were invited to taste and embrace a true Italian dining experience. A concept first born in Italy in 2003, Osteria del Tempo Perso was created, with love, by the Iacobelli famil
The standard of food in Bruntsfield is generally very high, and the standard of service is very high too. Tempo Perso finds its place amongst the champions in the area.3 of us went in for a meal mid-week, one of our party is coeliac. There was an excellent GF menu, the staff handled the need for GF really well, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Isola is specialize in regional Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine.
We randomly chose this restaurant after walking by it from our B&B into town and what a delightful experience! Service was excellent, prices were reasonable and our meals were excellent. Nice atmosphere inside as well. I especially enjoyed the pear and ricotta ravioli. Highly recommended.

Southern Italian using the very best of Italian and local Scottish produce.
Nothing is ever routine or banal here, not the atmosphere, not the service and not, of course, the cuisine. The personality of chef patron Rosario Sartore transpires from all his dishes, a Neapolitan-Scottish feast of colour and flavour. Today we had the ever wonderful Lobster linguine; and the pasta with potatoes and provola and tomatoes and pork cheek (guanciale), the sauce acquiring a pleasantly dense texture thanks to the potato, a gentle touch of heat, and all the richness from the cheese and pork. One main was another of our all-time favourites, the "big shoe"" (scarpone) of aubergine, a great vegetariandish. Instead of another main, we ordered two calf livers, presented with parmigiano shavings and delicate green leaves, light and intense. To conclude on a sweet note, we shared a pear creme caramel, I think it was the first time I saw this on the menu, but I hope not the last! The room has recently had a minor renovation and it remains probably the most charming and warm restaurant room in town. Service is special, and prices too.

My husband, teenage son and I ate here on our first night in Edinburgh. It is slightly out of the main centre but well worth going to for some delicious Italian food. The risottos were excellent, as was the pizza my son had. Would definitely return if we are in Edinburgh again.

My husband and I took over the function hall for our Golden Wedding celebration dinner for 35 family and friends. The room was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and all the team. Highly recommended.

We loved this Italian Restaurant and its warm friendly "momma's kitchen" type approach. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. From the start we were made to feel welcome, big smiles and warmth exuded from our host. Having been seated drinks orders were taken and the specials list offered - we suspect the menu was prepared ages ago and the restaurant have evolved a specials list that is almost a menu in itself now. Either way there was great choice - we were worried the menu was too long to do everything well but our fears were groundless, choosing from both the specials menu and the main menu each dish was gorgeous.Definitely worth a visit, and for us we will definitely be back.

A family run Italian restaurant that works hard to give the locals the very best in Italian cuisine. With a proven record of quality, we show off many of our accolades as soon as you walk through the front door. It doesn't end there. With great food comes
Visited with friends last Saturday for lunch. Not too busy and we were seated quickly. Good menus with option for set lunch or alacarte. The specials were completley different from the menus which were nice to see. We all went for pasta dishes and nothing was left. Good flavours and definately the best Italian in Midlothian. Service brilliant and a nice bottle of wine to finish it off. I believe they are now building a bar area which will be a nice addition next year.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday to break a car journey. A short diversion from the A720 Edinburgh bypass. Parked on a small road behind the restaurant. Friendly, efficient service and really wonderful food. The ricotta cakes and scallop/prawn ravioli were exquisite. The pizza was really good and the bruschetta very tasty. Vegetable sides very nice - perfectly cooked. Lemon tart with pine nuts blissful and the white Chocolate profiteroles a lovely sweet treat. Presentation very good. Restaurant is small and was busy but run very smoothly. Bathroom clean and swanky. Would not hesitate to go back. Might have to plan another long journey just so we do go back!

We had a lovely meal at Ciboâs with the family. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming so you donât feel like youâre being too noisy with a young family. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious. Would recommend the lasagna and pizza that we had. The kids meals were perfect and everyone elseâs meals looked delicious as well. We will definitely go back.
