A while back, we decided to try Goodfellas Pizza. It wasn't very good. Thick chewy mushroom stems and a soggy crust. I placed a review on Yelp accordingly. Someone from Goodfellas wrote me a private message agreeing that the pizzas were not coming out well that night and he would like to make it up to me by giving me a complimentary pizza.I responded that I would give it a try but he never responded back - empty promise. I therefore allowed my review to stand. This review is an edited version of the original. At least year went by and we were craving pizza, Goodfellas was the only one open and we thought, hey, let's give them one more shot. (There are sadly so few good choices here in Pacifica.) We had them deliver a pizza with pesto, mushroom and artichoke hearts - NO RED SAUCE. What we got was a pizza with red sauce and no pesto, plus the other ingredients. I called them and explained what I had received and a female manager came to the phone and said she would send out another pizza that was correct. I told her the last one had taken nearly an hour, it was late and we would prefer to have them make it up to us another way. The manager told me that when I order next, the pizza would be complimentary to make up for the mistaken pizza. I even asked her how that would happen and she stated that she would put a notation in my account accessible through my telephone number. I thanked her.Last night, I called Goodfellas to order that pizza. I was told all they could do is knock off 10%. Really? I explained what had been promised based upon what had happened last time and a manager was brought to the phone. She told me that all she was authorized to do is take 10% off otherwise she would have to call the owner/manager. After a few minutes, a man called and identified himself as the owner. He began by scolding me for using Yelp as a way to threaten and how do I think he feels hearing this, etc. I told him I thought his customer service skills were lacking. I reiterated my history (read above) with the business, essentially being owed at least one pizza but reminding him that my first experience with them was also a failure and a pizza was promised then, and then ignored after I accepted. I pointed out that on two separate occasion, Goodfellas had sold me either a bad pizza (acknowledged by him) or a completely wrong pizza, and in both circumstances, promises of a complimentary pizza were made and later denied. At the end of the phone conversation, the owner told me he doesn't feel like honoring those promises. I used a "naughty" phrase and hung up the phone.Bad, bad business. Poor customer service and dishonest policies. Never again Goodfellas! I'd rather order an excellent pizza and have Waiters on Wheels deliver it.

Not a lot I can say about this place. The pizza is very middle of the road. To me, a great and memorable pizza is mostly about the crust which should be crispy outside and chewy inside without being too tough, the sauce which should be ample and flavorful, and the cheese, which should be bubbly, browned, and with a stretchy texture. The toppings are also important in that they should seem fresh and flavorful, and should be proportionate to the rest of the pizza. If I judge round table by that criteria, it just lands somewhere around a C+. The crust was a little too tough, the sauce was bit too bland and there was not enough of it, the cheese was good, but the toppings had that âmass producedâ feel to them. Too uniform or something. So I guess it is a serviceable pizza option, but not a go to place for me.

The title of this review says it all. Wow! Granucci's was amazing. While visiting in Pacifica, we lucked out when searching for take-out pizza for our granddaughter. Granucciâs strip mall location was a total fooler. You canât imagine our surprise when, as we approached the store front with the word âPizzaâ on it, our server greeted us at the door. We found ourselves entering a charming white-tablecloth restaurant. We got our granddaughter the pepperoni pizza sheâd been looking forward to. My wife and I started out with a very nice pino grigio to enjoy with our crabcake appetizers. Our entrée was a petrale sole over mashed potatoes with spinach and a lemon butter reduction. Fabulous! The table service was impeccable. To recap: Excellent quality food prepared with obvious care and love for the art of fine cooking, exquisite service and pricing that represented total value against the dollar spent. My granddaughter, a picky eater beyond belief, commented âThe pizza was really, really good.â Iâll go her one better as a native Chicagoan who has had pizza all over the world. Iâve never had a better pizza than Granucciâs. I regard that as high praise indeed! If this review has piqued your interest, I encourage you to check out Granucciâs website

This is a hidden jewel for Italian food in South San Francisco. Worth the travel from San Francisco. Authentic Italian food, great service, free parking. We had the Tortellini Alfredo with pancetta and the chicken piccata. It was so tasty, which we left some for the next day. Highly recommend this location if you are in San Francisco or traveling through to the South on CA 101.

I first went to Buon Gusto over 30 years ago when I was living in SSF. Went back for lunch with visiting friends today. It not only had phenomenal food (we had the special sole in a lemon caper sauce) which was a generous portion of perfectly cooked fish, but I remembered the waiter who has been working there for over 30 years!Hi Dlh,Welcome back and thank you for all of your kind words. It's wonderful to hear that your lunch was phenomenal and our server took great care of you. We hope it isn't 30 years before your next visit.

I heard so much about Original Joeâs. I took a friend for a birthday lunch. To my surprise I felt like I was in a 1950âs movie. The restaurant is 50âs style very very clean, good music, excellent customer service. The food is excellent!! To much to select from the menu. A large selection of Italian & America food. I had the Shrimp and avocado sandwich. This place is awesome!!! The serverâs wearing Black and White tux it gave the restaurant a classy feeling. There is a full bar for well drinks. There is plenty of free parking in their lot. There is a area in the back for very large parties. Original Joeâs is wheelchair accessible. The menu is on the pricey side but!! Itâs worth it with the great customer service you receive. I will be returning very soon.Hi there, thanks for visiting us and for taking the time to leave us a review! We continuously strive to provide both excellent food and service and always love to see when our guests feel that we've fulfilled just that! Hope to see you in again soon so we have the chance to earn that 5th star in your eyes :)

Luigi's is a neighborhood hang-out. It is an older place and the decor is tatty. Luigi is ancient and a tad absent-minded but he enjoys his customers, and chats with regulars. In the opinion of the regulars who were with us, the food was great. They had fettucine with shrimp in an al fredo sauce. We had a pizza and it was no great shakes; very mundane. They have a limited beer and wine selection, as in they have 3-4 beers, a white wine and a red wine. No spirits license.Service was very slow. The first basket of garlic bread had no garlic on it. They eventually brought us one with garlic. It took several tries to get wine for two of our group and the order of ravioli was not cooked enough, they took it back, and there was quite a long wait until it was replaced. We poured our own water. If you are not a local, there is no need to visit this place. Have happy hour oysters at Moonraker instead.

We came for dinner before a red eye flight. It wasnât very busy for a Tuesday night, but it didnât matter because the food was great! They customized spaghetti and meat sauce with a little light cream which made it a pink sauce. My family has the Fettuccini with chicken. Everyone loved their food. We didnât need appetizers or dessert because they served a lot of food.

We rolled into this cute Italian restaurant tired and hungry. We were greeted with an attentive staff, and a short wait. Once we were seated we ordered 2 pizzas, and 2 pastas. We got the meat lovers pizza and farmerâs market pizza, both were great and highly recommend. We also got the carbonara and gnocchi, also good but we preferred the pizza. Definitely worth trying.
