The food. I have had here is very good. That being said , I have had both hot and cold hoagies and pizza, no maim entrees. All have been to go. They are very accommodating with special requests. The owner, Russ, is normally around and tries to insure complete satisfaction. He definitely gives 100% to his business. Overall a good place with very good food.

This was my first visit to Vito's and I was blown away by the great food and service.Everything is cooked fresh and is so full of flavor it was amazing. We had the Classic Brooklyn pizza with mushroom topping and they were fresh mushrooms, not canned, and it was loaded with fresh basil and the flavor was fabulous. The Coal Oven Wings with a nice cheese sauce were unique and delicious. The Sautéed Calamari with marinara sauce was another top favorite. Great, freshly made marinara and the calamari were very tender and tasty. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Service was fast and the overall experience was spot on!Looking forward to going back again.

Haven't been down in some time, may have new ownership keeping the name or their kids took it over(?) This business started in Ashland before relocating to Pottsville. Their hoagies were always stuffed to your liking with the freshest D&W meats, cheeses, etc., and can easily be cut and shared. They'll even do it for you, buns were brought in fresh from south Philly. Location on Pottsville's main street made parking a bit of a hassle. Sorry they left Ashland some years back, people driving through still look for them. Owner was always engaging when it came to all things Philadelphia sports related which decorated the walls among other items collected. Pottsville location had some seating but their take out business is phenomenal, always was. Best hoagies in the county. Many types to choose from, deserts, snacks, nonalcoholic drinks available. Sure the teens bounce in and out from schools.
I prefer the Suglia's located in the Frackville Mall myself, but this location is a bit more formal and the staff is great. The pizza is nearly as good as in Frackville, so no sacrificing there. For great pizza, either location is a great choice.

I had a few folks claim this place has great subs. Not so much. I got an Italian and it was nothing more than average. Nothing great about the meat or cheese, typical lettuce, average roll. A Farlow's sub crushes this place. I also grabbed a slice and it was average as well. Perhaps the food other than the subs and pizza rate an excellent rating, but I doubt it and sense the typical over rating ubiquitous in ratings. Its in a dirty strip mall.

We had a ball, upstairs by the front windows. Brea, our hostess was great. The food was great. The portions were huge, and everything was tasty. I challenge you to eat and finish a whole small Stromboli, yourself....and we had food to take home for the next day.Four people, $51.00 before the tip.

Most of the ratings are out of date, so here's an update. I've had food from here for years as well as every other typical South Skook pizza joint and every food item I discuss I have tasted on several occasions. Their pizza is average most days and only better if made by Bits - he seems to put out a "fuller" pie. Toppings($2.50) are way overpriced as well as the draft beer prices$3.00). The biggest lack of consistency is on wing night. I really love the hoss sauce. However, the quality of the wings varies and they are quite often the lowest grade itty bitty wings. Depending on who's working, you may get them burnt solid or soggy and your sauce quantity will vary from swimming wings to barely wet. Source of agitation-they toss the celery in with wings and the celery is disgustingly warm and soggy when you take wings to go. Please take a few seconds and wrap them in wax paper. The burgers are tiny (4oz)and I stand by the reasoning that very few burgers less than 8oz are worth a darn. A local exception is a "hosey burger" from DL hosey. NEVER get a hoagie here. Very skimpy on meat and sometimes the rolls are old, just check out the picture that someone else posted and all you see is iceberg lettuce piled on a roll. I also do not like the rolls even when fresh because they are "hard" rolls. Takeout beer is priced ok but far from a "huge" selection, but they stock the basics. I also caution readers on ratings that use exclamation points and vague comments, so be sure my review is honest and based on a lot of local Italian fare consumed. I will continue to get a pizza from them every so often and will invariably give the wings another shot sometime soon because I really like their sauce but hate the tiny wings and soggy celery.

So, another South Skook pizza place to review. The owner is a hard working guy who definitely has this place on course under his ownership. The meals are consistently good, just a hair overpriced for the area. My son always gets the meatball parm which is quality homemade balls, good sauce, and plentiful cheese. I usually get the skinny square pie which is a great deal at around $13. Its a thin crust with plenty of sauce and cheese, avoiding the common "dry pizza" syndrome sometimes found in S. Skook. Garlic knots are always fresh and bursting with flavor and a good bang for the buck. Another good menu item is the stromboli's, which are full with quality ingredients. Only downer have been my experiences with the bar. I got it, its not a "bar" environment, but a tweak on the staff would do wonders. I once sat at the outside bar and was charged three different prices for the same mixed drink that I had to make a double to taste the booze. I experienced the same inconsistency in wine pours. Have a beer/wine/specialty cocktail menu available because I have to guess thru the beer list and usually get stuck with a basic Miller Lite. I would add a star with a fix in the bar and also would like to see more daily specials, although given the success I am not sure Carmello will fiddle with a good thing!

Lunch at Valenti's was excellent. Valenti's menu offers a huge selection of subs, sandwiches ( including cheese steak ) pasta, salads, pizza, and desserts that are reasonably priced. Rolls and crusts are obviously home made. My cheese steak was huge. My wife's Caesar with shrimp was more than she could eat. We also ordered take out of pizza and tiramisu. Service was cheery. Food was delivered without much wait. You cannot go wrong eating at Valenti's or ordering out.

While traveling to Orwigsburg, my grandson and I found Mustard Seed Cafe on the square in town. What a find! I met the owner who actually is native Italian; enjoyed his accent. The cafe offers a large menu including subs, pasta dishes, and of course, pizza. Also, home made sauces are sold. I ordered half an Italian sub with oil, not mayonnaise which is so inappropriate on a true Italian sub. The roll had a crisp crust covering soft bread interior. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. This was a perfect sub that I seriously miss. My grandson ordered a slice of cheese pizza. Delicious! And, it covered a regular size dinner plate, but he did not leave one bite behind. With drinks our lunch cost less than $20.00! We will return if we make another trip to this area.
