Things to do in Montieri
Sit and chill an watch the odd car go by and greet passers by. The new bar in Montieri offers a range of alcoholic, non alcoholic drinks, coffee, ice cream etc6pm aperitivo with snacks a great way to relax before dinner. Large screen projector in the medieval fountain and live music on weekends. A great addition to Montieri

Not a lot of choices in small town, however this restaurant is very good. Deserves higher rating in town. It is important that you can park there as places difficult in town. Follow signs or ask a local. Generous portions of delicious food, cheerful service, small place with just a few tables, obviously favored by locals. So much better than high rated bistro galli, has varied menu and terrific, cheerful service. Dei galli pretty and well placed, but food bland. This is quite good.

This entry and its reviews seems to another Tripadvisor/FB trap: owner's taking the good evaluations to increase prices without improving anything: extremly spartanic village restaurant, locals playling cards and the "dining" area is seperated by a paper wall. Only the new tables doesn't allow you to charge 2⬠coperto, folks! Outside plastic tables and chairs 20 years old....Reviewers voted this a cheap eatery which it isn't by far: Coperto 2â¬, primi around 10⬠and secondi up to 15⬠doesn't make it a bargain anymore to drive the long way to the mountains. For similar simple andn good food, you find similar prices almost everywhere in the areaBTW: Correct name Bar Trattoria" not "Osteria".. whatever!

What appeared to be a family-run, cosy yet quaint, no-fuss decor eatery turned out to be our dinner provider on two nights of our stay.. and it was busy on both nights! The contained 4-course meal was pretty much set out for us being part of a large group. Each time the starters were a culinary preview of Italy's fine green-hued olive oil, dressing some bread or bruschetta.Firsts were plates of pasta, from tortelli Maremmani, to penne in pancetta sauces, sugo antico or tagliatelle in a sausage and mushroom sauce. Seconds were pork, beef stews, egg-free battered pork and stewed rabbit. Sides were nicely roasted potatoes and lightly seasoned... we were always fairly satisfied with taste and quantities. One particular evening our dessert was a delicious pannacotta which was to die for! Another evening we were served a smooth and sweet lemon sorbet :)Service was generally quick and efficient, although the sanitary facilities were scruffy and simply functional. The staff were light on their feet and bubbly.

The "Grotta di Tiburzi" is a small Wine Bar Restaurant run by Mariangela and her daughters Bianca and Ada. It lies in the historical center of the medieval small town of Chiusdino (Siena) within easy reach of the Romanesque Abbey of Montesiepi and of the
Thirteen of us had lunch at La Grotta and it was a delightful experience. Excellent house wine and bottled water were on our tables as soon as we arrived. We had a set menu because of the size of our group starting with fresh garden salad, followed by the best fried vegetables. Next came malfatti or gnudi, little round balls that would normally be wrapped in a ravioli pasta.Dessert was a delicious mascarpone slightly sweetened.Service was very good and the price was very reasonable.Highly recommended

Since 2004 in Ciciano, is situated between the villages of Chiusdino and Montieri, the âVal di Merseâ (river Merse Valley) and the âColline Metallifereâ (Metalliferous Hills), on the antique Massetana, the road that joined Siena to Massa Marittima and the

Have been visiting and working near here over the last 10 years and found this treasure when searching the area. The lovely maitre d is Dominic and her swiss born mother cooks...do try the drunken chicken and the mushroom & chickpea soup..sounds better in Italian, funghi e ceci..oh and the chocolate dessert. ! its a delightful place to find good fare and wine with great hosts..we named it 'dont touch the baby' and as a precurser as them how that came about. have fun.. La Ciottolona is a small restaurant with a shady cool garden and pool (don't forget your swim wear) :)The menu is based on the "slow food" movement with local ingredients and tasty surprises such as lemon in the tortellini and capers with anchovies in the vinegar they serve within the slices beef (tagliata di manzo). They also serve a refreshing white wine which goes great with the garden setting under the grape vines. The manager is super friendly and will make you feel at home in his restaurant.
