We found one review of this place, in Italian, and deciphered enough of it to give it a try- what an amazing place! When we called to ask about opening times, the owner said, "The restaurant is always open." Encouraged, we set Google Navigation to the address. Unfortunately, the restaurant is inside the walls of an ancient city, so when we arrived, Google showed us a photo of a brick wall. However, we persisted, walked up the stone steps and turned right to find the place. It was early and we were the only patrons. The owner, Antonio, came to our table and offered an appetizer plate of mixed meats and cheese. He brought out a plate of prosciutto, pancetta, salami, cheese, and a homemade apple marmalade that his mother, the cook, had prepared. Everything was great. When we asked about a menu, Antonio told us, no menu, he knows what we want. Really? Well, did he ever. He offered up a choice of pastas for the first plate, and we chose a mixture- a serving of lasagna and one of tagliatelle with local truffles, sausage and a cream sauce. For a second plate, he had several meat choices, and we decided, reluctantly, on the local lamb. (We don't normally eat lamb, but when in Montefortino, ...). He brought out a plate of perfectly grilled chops and ribs for us. There was also a homemade dolce (dessert) a mixed salad, and we had a liter of the house red wine and a liter of water. After a two-hour meal, he brought the check, and apologized for the total- he said the local lamb was expensive, and that's why it was so much. This for a total of 70 Euro for a party of 3! Including wine! We were absolutely gobsmacked by the quality of the food, the attention of the service, and the overall experience. On our way out, they offered us a taste of the liqueurs they made in-house, and we met all three generations of the family. All in all, one of our best dining experiences in Italy, and that's saying a lot! If at all possible, give this place a try.

I love everything about this place. We have been making an annual, sometimes biennial pilgrimage here every year for the past fifteen years, and have never enjoyed a less than perfect meal in a welcoming atmosphere.. Antipasti, primi, secondi (try the spezzatino or lamb cutlets cooked on the fire) The restaurant is nearly always full with a combination of local regulars and visitors from beyond Marche. The secret of its appeal lies in the attention to detail. The menus are changed daily with fresh ingredients chosen by head chef Stefano and proprietor, Pepino The service is unobtrusive, knowledgeable, friendly and extremely efficient. Beppe is the best maitre d'hotel I've ever met, amusing, full of anecdotes, attentive, very helpful in his suggestions of what to order on a particular day or evening, and, importantly, more knowledgeable than most about Italian wine. Make the effort and go.

Lovely to sit outside and enjoy the country views. The food and wine were very good typical local fare: boar, truffle, mushroom and sage sauces with pasta, grilled meats, 0.5l of house wine for â¬2.50. I concur with the other reviews that service is a little slow (though we in no rush) and courteous rather than friendly. Will definitely return. Looks good for a big group if pre booked.

We arrived here on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and they were open but not serving food. They were very nice and offered to make us a sandwich which we accepted. We hope to visit again when they are serving a full menuSalve, innanzitutto vogliamo ringraziarvi per la vostra recensione... ci fà sempre molto piacere leggere le opinioni dei nostri clienti. Donato&Lorena

Dining isn't simply about eating - it's about the quality, provenance and integrity of the ingredients; the atmosphere in the restaurant and the friendliness and knowledge of the service. My lunch here had all this ......... and more. When I'd paid the bill (not expensive) Francesco, the owner, began chatting with me and 10 minutes later I was in his Xterra being shown the local backwoods and hilltops. We even stopped for a coffee and mistra with one of his neighbors!! A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Bernardina

Having been to Il Tiglio six months ago, I felt it would be unfair not to share my experience of this place, a I would put this at the top of my culinary memories. It was a unique experience. It is in a class of its own. The food is more than food. It is poetry. It is like a master creating a unique piece of art. I just wish I could have other friends experiencing this unique place.

The farm is surrounded by oak trees in the heart of the Sibillini Mountains. Our strength lies in the close connection to the territory: in fact the raw materials come from our crops and farms. The family-style cuisine enhances the traditional flavors: ha
This is a restaurant tucked away gown a track with the only sign being a rough handwritten sign off the main road.Great for children as there is a big play area within view of outside seating. There is no choice but there is no need! Huge plates of delicious ham, salami, sausage, followed by a very worth bean soup and then chops/steak and a pud - with wine for four adults and two children, just 120 euros!
