The pizza is good but the contest and the location are poor. You can have a decently priced quality pizza on the corner of a main road.

Consigliato.

This trattoria is a bit hidden away off-the-road, just outside the centre of Monticelli Terme. It offers (a lot of) tables under a tent outside in a large garden, which was a nice dining experience (without mosquitos by the way). The dishes served are very tasteful, but the spiedini of meat are worth being mentioned separately: they are really huge! Never seen such a quantity of roasted beef! So, if you fancy a good piece of beef and you're very hungry, don't hesitate to visit this place.Quick and correct service for a reasonable price (we paid â¬61).

This restaurant is located in the small town of Montecchio. It moved around a year ago from the original Red Lion site to a new larger location on top of a shopping centre just 2 minutes down the road. It feels a little Chinese as you approach with the Red Lion theme, a large rising or setting sun mural on the wall and even a lantern style lamp illuminating the outside seating area. But once inside it's unmistakably Italian. Our group all opted for the huge metre long pizza's mostly accompanied by beer which is a good thing as the beer selection is huge, varied and excellent. The pizzas were huge, magnificent and full of flavour. I'm sure the full menu is also good but on pizza and beer alone this is a 5 star establishment. Service was also friendly and efficient.

We were hungry at lunch but didnât want a heavy, complicated ristorante type A-Z meal. Since we were in the neighborhood we found RPMLL. What a treat! Foccacia to start, with a cipolla topping. Excellent salad, fantastic pizza: perfect crust, exceptional sauce, highest quality mozzarella... fine quality olive oil and tasty balsamic vinegar... chased down with local Lambrusco. Topped off with lemoncello and an unbelievable cherry liquor which we were informed was 42% alcohol. The interior is a bit tacky. Donât let that put you off. Hungry? Go! Closed Mondays.

Chiuso il Lunedi
Fantastic recommendation from our B&B. The service is great from friendly staff. Cool location. The food is just amazing and what you get as part of coperto is incredible. Love the fried polenta, dumplings and cakes at the end. Great pasta dishes and high quality meats. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent restaurant, run by a very passionate man who's fond of opera music (Verdi as background music) and the local kitchen of Emilia-Romagna. There is no written menu, so just go along with the suggestions of the owner. We were brought excellent starters (multiple plates) so we could try and taste a number of local specialities. All accompanied by the explanations of the owner, who stopped by our table many times to inquire how we found his suggestions and just curious to learn more about us. After two tasteful primi (I went for the unavoidable local classic: the tortellini di zucca), we had no place anymore for another maincourse. The secondi of beef we saw being served to the other two tables were huge and looked fantastic, but we were fully satisfied.... At least that's what we thought, because the owner convinced us to go for a dolce. Since we had difficulties in making a choice, he simply brought a plate with his four favourite deserts! This was a great experience. A passionate cook who loves the products he's serving and who's proud of what he brings to your table. When we asked where we could find good balsamico, he told us we were at the right place and we got top products presented along with some good advice. We paid â¬67,5 for our dinner which is good value for your money. Great place!
