A friend of ours recommended this small osteria located right on main square of Mondovì's historic center. Once you enter your eyes immediately look up to the beautifully restored frescoes on the ceiling of this historic building. The restaurant's decor is a comfortable blend of old and new. Since it was a chilly evening we opted to dine inside but there are several tables outdoors under the porticoes with views of the piazza. For starters we ordered Vitello Tonnato and it was out of this world. Moist, tender, thin slices of veal roast that were pink and moist. The tonnato sauce was thick and full of flavor. It was a great version of this classic local dish. We opted for a "light" main course and ordered the Insalata di Polpo which is a warm salad of grilled octopus, potatoes, olives and capers with a lemony vinagrette. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender. To go with our dinner we ordered a bottle of Lighea from Donna Fugata and it was a match made in heaven. We found Caffè Bertaina to be a great place for dinner and can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu. This locale is a great addition to Mondovì's dining scene.

On our way from Liguria to Alba we stopped in this lovely, traditional Osteria. It was 5pm and the lunch time was long gone but the super-friendly Signore opened the restaurant for us nevertheless. And they prepared us a truly marvellous meal of typical simple Piemonte style. This was out second visit and we will definitely return

The Michelis family's passion is also reflected in the catering: in Mondovì, Cuneo, Rome and Turin (in the "Easy Gourmet" version), Il Ristorantino becomes a means of communication. "We cook what we produce" is the promise that invites customers to taste
Michelis is a pasta factory, they product pasta, cookies, bread and some other food... Near the factory you can find a tiny restaurant (6/7 tables) with every day different dishes in menu..Choice is limited day by day, but taste and product quality is excellent.. every day you can choose from 3 different pasta dishes or meet.. I suggest you to try a taste of all pasta (in one dish).. and try "Paste di meliga" ... good and special cookies... price isn't low but not too expensive.

Sinceramente non ho trovato una pizza all'altezza delle aspettative di cui tutti parlano. L'ho trovata abbastanza pesante, buona per carità , ma pesante.

Historical Osteria in Mondovì Breo, the Quattro Stagioni, completely renewed in March 2007, offers the possibility of tasting the typical Piedmontese specialities at lunch and dinner every day except on Monday. The disposition of the tables in the unique
I had the chance of having few dinners at Quattro Stagioni during a stay in a guesthouse nearby called Mondovi Ridente. The restaurant is true to the local dedication to good food and I enjoyed the experience. There are more thrilling places in and around Mondovi (Marsupino is an example) but there's nothing wrong trying this one. Their beef dishes are marvels.

Good place to stay near Mondovi. Clean, lovely staff. Rooms are ample size with a well stocked fridge. Good bathroom with good supply of hot water to the shower. Breakfast was ample - lots of cake but also meats, cheese, boiled eggs and toast. The dinner in the restaurant - really needs no recommendations - the amount of people that go there, it speaks for itself. I lost count after dish number 7 was served. I don't eat meat and they were more than accommodating.

This trattoria is well known in the Mondovì area for its local cuisine which is served family style. We brought a friend of ours who was visiting from the US to Croce d'Oro for lunch. There are several courses of traditional antipasti, a choice of a couple of different pasta dishes and meats and of course, dessert. All was going well until our friend started to eat his gnocchi and bit into a big piece of metal and cut his mouth. We immediately called over the owner who said.. "Don't worry, it is just a piece of the metal scrubber we use to clean the potatoes." No apologies. The worst part is that the owner insisted that we pay for the gnocchi even though our friend rightfully refused to eat anything further. With an ingnorant, arrogant owner like this, I don't care how good the food may be. We will NEVER set foot in Croce d'Oro again.

I'm sorry but this restaurant is very over rated! OK to have a short menu list for the restaurant when it is actually a pizzeria but evrything was really simple and the ambient was very noisy! Definitely not a 4.5 score restaurant.

Unusual downstairs venue in the town's main street, just steps away from the municipal building, it is a welcoming restaurant and bar with a vast selection of Piedmontese wines and an interesting food list including many original ideas.Pleasant ambiance and friendly service, equally ideal both for a quick lunch and a romantic dinner.

The farmhouse San Martino is an antique property of the Church dating back to the XIII century: it is situated in the wonderful area of the Langhe hills and dominates the Tanaro valley. It is surrounded by vineyards, hazelnut cultivations and woods and it
The atmosphere is very nice and warm and they have kept and renovated the old vaulted ceiling made of bricks. There is also a nice patio in the courtyard where you can eat under the grape-vines. The menu entirely follows the periodicity of products and most ingredients come from their own land and garden. Pasta and bread are handmade with locally milled flour. All of the ingredients they don't produce, such as meat and cheese, are bought by other nearby farms. All dishes are traditional with an original twist and very well executed. Their own produced wine is also very nice (it is a DOCG). Prices are absolutely fair and the couple handling the place is really kind and professional.
