Things to do in Mishima
The restaurant is up some stairs. I don't think there is a lift for wheelchair access.Ample parking, but you should get there early (say 11.30 a.m.) as the Japanese love to have lunch spot on 12. You may have to queue a short while, but there is seating while you wait.Main courses, are, as the name suggests, pasta and pizza (traditional styles). All reasonably priced and tasty. The pizza crust is a little too biscuity for my taste, but it's nicely thin. The restaurant serves wine, too.Salad is unlimited, as is bread, coffee, and/or tea, and dessert (including soft ice cream). There are great views from the windows - a watermill, a cakeshop just next door, and the entrance to the Sano Art Museum on the other side of the road.
Me and Rion and Makoto visited ãMasticavinoãon May 13th. This restaurant makes me feel easy to visit and to interact with other people. So I think most people can stay comfortable in this place.I was surprised because the menu of this restaurant is written by handwriting. We ordered ãassorted raw ham and salamiã/ãgorgonzola gnocchiã/ãgeef steak with balsamic vinegarããCapresesalad,ã. The First art dish,ãassorted raw ham and salamiã was well lined up. It is easy to eat and we enjoyed three types of taste. One is spicy, one was salty, The one smell of olive oil.The second dish,ãGorgonzola Gnocchiã was pasta that we usually donât see in Japan. It is similar to cut small potatoes. Its texture is like Japanese rice cakes but the sauce was so creamy for me so it makes me have a good appetite. The third dish,ãBeef steak with balsamic vinegarã used various vegetables. This dish used eggplant, okura, pumpkin broccoli etc. I think this dish was very healthy for our body. I like these ingredients and composition. The Final dish,ãCapresesaladãwas composed of tomatoes and cheese. Until now I dislike...no. I hated row tomato.I had not ever been able to eat raw tomato before but I was able to eat raw tomato then! But somebody didnât eat it so I ate two thirds of the amount! But I donât mind. All things considered, I recommend ãMasticavinoãto everyone! Masticavino has nice ambience, reasonable prices, and the employee will be kind to us!

We eat very well, the taste was awesome and the plate presentation was really great, a pleasure for papilla and eyes. It's real true Italian restaurant. The chief take care of his customers, speak many languages (he's Italian, but speak a perfect japanese, English, Spanish and french) and we were all amazed by the taste of the cooks. The price is more than reasonable.

Lovely place in french cozy style. View to the park. Had there my lunch. No English menu, but the chef speaks english. He was very willing about my vegetarianism. I Had the best meal of my Japan trip there, comparing also posh Tokyo restaurant! Absolutely Delicious carrot pate as a starter. Gratin cheese veggies pasta. And tiramisu. Loved it! Thank you!

Tasty food, reasonable prices. a large seating area, but you'll probably have to sign in and wait to be called. Italian inspired food - at least the pizza is not "Japanese size"!!Unlimited bread (choose from a large variety, including some small pizza slices).Pleasant staff.Airy, great for families, lunches with friends. Very informal.
We honestly can't say enough about this little restaurant! After two weeks of Japanese food, I was looking for a different meal. My husband and I read about this place, and we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant itself is on the second floor of a building, but it is well-marked. It opens at 6pm and closes at 11pm (I think it's closed on Sundays). It was warm and cozy on the November night we visited. The music was kept at a low volume, and we were able to comfortably have a quiet conversation. It is a non-smoking restaurant, and we were VERY thankful for that.We ordered from the English menu. We had the Tomato Basil Bruschetta (good, fresh ingredients), the Spaghetti Bolognese (very good and made with a seasoned, ground pork I think - the sauce was light and the pasta was properly al dente), and the Vegetable Risotto (excellent). While I did not try a wine pairing because I had struggled with a headache that day, they had a fairly extensive wine list. The young chef came to our table a couple of times (I think his English was stronger than the waitress) and we were pleased with the service and the overall experience. We're still in disbelief that we had such a great Italian meal in Mishima!
