Reviews on Italian food in Maputo, Maputo Province, Mozambique. Maputo, the lush capital of Mozambique, sits on the shore of the Indian Ocean. Founded as a port town by the Portuguese, the influence of travelers and traders from Africa, Asia, and Europe, has made the city a diverse and lively metropolis. The area is famous for its prawns in peri-peri sauce, a spicy concoction made from an especially hot African chili pepper. Calm down your taste buds afterwards with a beer at one of the many bars and nightclubs in the Fere de Populare neighborhood.

I came in expecting an average restaurant. The restaurant tried to create a image of fine dining but failed. The ambiance is cafeteria like, the fish I had well below average. Best thing to say is location, I suppose that is why I went there in the first place

Stopped in here with a business partner for lunch, was impressive, fairly small menu but the food served was fresh and cooked very well. The presentation was excellent and the service quick and professional. I had a pasta dish with squid, the squid was cooked perfectly and in a fresh tomato sauce.

Sophisticated yet unpretentious, the Filini Bar & Restaurant serves delectable Italian cuisine prepared with the freshest seasonal ingredients and complemented by masterfully chosen wines. The head chef combines traditional recipes with contemporary flair
We had breakfast here during our stay at Radisson Blu Maputo, great overall experience and wonderful staff. I love how it has a view overlooking the ocean and the hotel's pool/deck area. During our few morning here it was never highly congested (which is great) and staff are always on standby to assist with anything. Great variety of breakfast goodness to choose from.Dear Papi,Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We revamped our breakfast recently and it trills us to know that our clients are appreciative of the efforts. We look forward to your next visit.Warm Regards,Niklas JonssonGeneral Manager

Been there with local friends Guida and Carlos who frequent this place...even though it has an Italian name as the owner is an old timer Italian but the Mozambicain food is also great.Unfortunately it was a bit damp due to the unprecedented rains Maputo received in May. We had delicious fried prawns as starters and the crab matapa with Xima was excellent, so also the other things we are.The ambiance is nice as it is in the Feima artisan fair open daily during day time and closed at nights , so this restaurant is closed for dinner.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was how loud the place was. It seemed like everybody was speaking to drown out the noise around them. Then, there was rather unsavory music on the PA system. It was not pleasant.Pizza and lula we ordered were not bad, but we were more interested in eating fast, paying and leaving. In that sense it was not a nice evening. We will never go back.

We were two for lunch at this place. We ordered a platter of Sushi and Tamaki. The food was delicious. The restaurant was half-full. The service was slow. Prices are a bit on high. Expect to pay between 900-1200 p/p. It is located inside a park. Good place for kids to play and keep an eye on them while you eat.

We revisited Spazio after several months and as usual we enjoyed our food there. For some reason the serving staff seemed rather distracted. They were all just hanging out there forgetting tomato sauce, placing food in front of the wrong person etc. It was difficult to get their attention. It was kind of weird. The atmosphere was Ok except for the smoke because there was no non-smoking section. For the price you pay here , it is reasonable to expect to be able to eat without smoke in your face.Next time, we will go to another Italian restaurant.

We were looking for a nice down-to-earth restaurant for a business dinner and Bel Piatto definitely met our expectations. The restaurant has roughly 10-12 tables and has a very cosy atmosphere, allowing for good conversations with business partners. The food is indeed very Italian and very delicious. Our guests insisted on halal food, which was no problem for the chef. The staff only spoke Portuguese while we were there, so either make sure you know some basic words or have someone Portuguese speaking in your team.

Went with the family to have lunch on a Sunday. The place was about 80% full. The service was acceptable but the food was very poor. The calamari was dry and chewy and my steak was bad. Tasteless, dry and pretty dull. Which is quite hard to achieve on a medium rare steak! Actually tasted like microwave food!!!Disappointing!
