It is the main town in the Mansfield local government district and is a part of the Mansfield Urban Area. Nestling in a pocket within the Maun Valley surrounded by hills, the town is around 12 miles (19 km) north of Nottingham. The district of Mansfield is a largely urban area situated in the north west of Nottinghamshire populated by 99,600 residents, the vast majority of whom live in Mansfield (including Mansfield Woodhouse), with Market Warsop a secondary centre, and the remainder in the rural north of the district. Adjacent to the urban area of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield is the only major sub-regional centre in Nottinghamshire covering an area of 30 square miles (78 sq km). The Centre for Cities (2009) categorises the town as a 'small city', although it does not officially hold city status.

My wife and I found the food, presentation, taste, service and surroundings very high. We both enjoyed a very tasty Lasagne and Fries which was quite expensive due to the small portions of everything governed by the perameters of the querky dishes. However, this is great for special occasions and you always receive excellent service.

Visited here on a Saturday evening.Took our own wine which is good as we can drink our favourite tipple.Place was well set out with plenty of room between tables.Good atmosphere and relaxed and the food was not rushed and when it came was lovely,fresh produce and nice and hot. The waiting staff (Helena and Mia)where polite,cheerful and helpful and deserved the tip we left as did the kitchen staff for the great food. Will defo return.

7 of us visited last night, we have eaten here before and enjoyed it but last night was fantastic, the food was excellent. We all had starters, main and pudding everything was really good, very tasty and good portion size. Service they couldn't do enough for us even putting the wine we had taken with us in the fridge, providing champagne glasses and then bringing out wine glasses for the wine. We had a fantastic night and will defiantly recommend to others and we will be back soon. Great restaurant, lovely atmosphere and extra bonus that you can take your own wine.

We recently ate here with friends, none of us had been previously so it was an all new experience. We weren't disappointed, the food was excellent the service was very efficient and the staff friendly and pleasant. Sat listening to an incredibly rude woman complaining constantly to the staff when she randomly turned up with over a dozen people including some very loud badly behaved children who we could hear even when we moved to the other side of the room. Throughout it all the staff were patient and respectful to people who really didnât deserve it. Well done Michelle P and the rest. As regular customers we appreciate you all.
