You should go here for the cute terrace. Dine under a tree and enjoy simple but well made food. We loved the ravioli (homemade) with walnut sauce. Our meat was (escaloppe) was good, the fennel that came with it delicious. The local red wine was nithing special, but ok. Pana cotta as dessert was a perfect finishPlace worthwhile visiting

We went back for first visit this year with some friends. We had visited several times in previous years. What happened to the friendly service? As usual, we ordered a mixture of pizzas and salad to share. Granted, we did not order a pizza for each person because the sizes are adequate for sharing unless you have a huge appetite. So, three pizzas and salad arrived for six of us. We then had the audacity to ask for side plates. You'd think we had asked for silver cutlery and a gold platter. The boss came out with plates and announced that, of course, we would have to pay a surcharge for the extra plates!! Needless to say, this penny-pinching attitude means that the 'Trogolo' is definitely off our 'go-to' restaurants in the area. Why lose loyal custom? Did they really cover the loss of future custom with their miserly 6 euro supplement?

A good pizza restaurant with some interesting choices. There are 2 sizes and the waitress suggested the smaller one unless you were very hungry. Also excellent salade nicoise. The outdoor seating is on two streets: we didn't see inside. Friendly efficient staff. People were coming in later than many French restaurants.

On a recent stay in Loches my friend ,who I was traveling with, was exhausted and just wanted to remain in the peaceful garden of the BnB we were staying and asked if I could go out and bring some food back so we could have a picnic dinner so to speak.I walked 5 mins into the village of Loches and came across a pizzeria called Sforza .... I looked at the menu and in addition to pizza I saw that they served lasagna and a variety of other pastas. I placed an order in for pizza and one lasagna to take out. The waitress who took my order seemed to imply that I could get both to take out.....however, the CHIEF PIZZA MAKER ( who might also be the owner ) VETOED my request..... and did so in a rather unpleasant tone of voice. I was told that I could ONLY order Pizza to take out and not lasagna. Given that there were not many places open that were serving dinner I decided to at least get the pizza and keep looking for something else for my friend. To my amazement, right around the block from Sforza at #13 Rue Sainte Antoine, TripAdvisor has the address I think as #11 ...... I uncovered a tiny Italian eatery called Aux Saveurs d'Italie....and what a GREAT find it is. The "lemons" being served up by Sforza turned into "lemonade" at Saveurs d'Italie.Initially I felt guilty going inside , given that I was holding a pizza purchased at Sforza....But after looking at the menu I entered..... I was very warmly greeted and was told, of course you can order pasta to go. Given how reasonable the prices were I ordered a portion of lasagna and a portion of spaghetti carbonara .... I had some concerns ordering the latter from such a small establishment but those concerns turned to absolute JOY 20 mins later when my friend and I shared our Italian picnic dinner in the garden.Keep in mind.....I believe that inside this tiny little eatery, the service area can't be more than 25 sq meters...I believe there were only two tables and stools, in addition to the counter and prep space for making pizza....so Aux Saveurs D'Italie is NOT a place that you will go if you are thinking of having a relaxing sit down dinner. This DEFINITELY IS the place to go if you want quality take out Italian food.....be it pasta or pizza.Despite her exhaustion my friend first devoured her lasagna as I did with the spaghetti carbonara..... Other then the audible ahhhs, there was very little talking between us just plenty of eating. And yes we both then tried the pizza from Sforza....yes it was a good size pie, the toppings OK but the crust was too thick for our liking. One word of warning....although goat cheese in the Loire Valley is outstanding I would NOT select it as a pizza topping unless you were going to eat the entire pie in one sitting. My friend and I only consumed two slices of the Sforza pizza, refrigerated the remainder and thought we would heat up and have it the following day for lunch.. I tried one slice the next day and proclaimed YUCK to the goat cheese and discarded it all. Again, it tasted OK when it was served fresh but as a leftover it was a disaster.Although we did not try the pizza at Saveurs d'Italie .... What I can say is that from the moment I walked in until I left , which was a good 15-20 mins, ..... I assume it was the "owner" who I watched was making non stop pizzas and people were continuously walking in to pick them up.....somebody in Loches must love their pies.In summary..... Don't let rude behavior spoil your meal.....sometimes it can lead to uncovering a real treasure as in the case of Saveurs d'Italie. I'm not sure of their hours of operation, but if you arrive in Loches around lunch or dinner time and you want to treat yourself to some GREAT Italian take out....stop by Saveurs d'Italie ...they provide both GREAT FOOD and WARM HOSPITALITY..... Then either head to the beautiful park in Loches , which is a short ten minute walk across the small river running through town, or return to your BnB and treat yourself to a most memorable talian picnic lunch or dinner....at bargain prices !

Decided to go to this pizza take away as it was a Sunday and not many places open in Loches. Good choice of pizza, freshly made. Kids enjoyed pepperoni and margarita. Easy to jump in the car and take to the gite.
