Unexpected find and wonderful surprise! Food was home made with genuine ingredients. I had Pasta infused with olive oil, basil, black course pepper, garlic with fresh clams....yum yum! My partner had gnocchi; which had a firm bite, baked in tomato, basil and mozzarella seasoned sauce and was amazing.House rose was very good also.Such a lovely atmosphere, relaxed, laid back, chilled resulting in one of our longest lunches ever.Special mention to the chef/owner who made us feel like we were guests in his home rather than customers in a restaurant.

My wife and I first discovered le Patio du Vallon in 1999 when we had just arrived jet lagged and hungry at a house we were renting just outside of Merindol and while walking through the very quite village we heard noise from a second floor terrace, le Patio, and shared a marvelous pizza and a carafe of wine in a very pleasing setting. We return to Merindol in June and September each year, and our first dinner is always a pizza and a carafe at le Patio. Then, over the course of our two weeks stays, we will eat at le Patio at least 2 or three more times because the chef's talents extend well beyond pizzas. He also makes the best lasagna that we have ever eaten, actually two varieties, bolognaise which my wife prefers and "lasagna brouse", with eggplant, that I prefer,he makes a very good cannelloni, and he makes terrific deserts. And the prices are reasonable to the extreme.

On a slightly chilly and breezy Monday evening in mid-September we were struggling to find somewhere to eat as most of the other restaurants were closed. Pizzeria Dou Luberon mostly provides take-away but there are a few little aluminium tables and chairs outside. The owner (this is a one-person operation) said there would be a wait of 20-25 minutes because people had ordered over the phone and we said that was OK - he said we could sit at one of the tables and offered us a glass of wine (white/rose/red from a wine box - which was actually very good and very reasonably priced). While we were waiting the other outside tables filled up with local people and there was a really enjoyable atmosphere. Our pizzas did take a bit longer than promised ( we were sustained by the wine boxes) but when they came they were worth waiting for - really excellent, and huge! We really enjoyed this unexpected dining experience!

As in most tourist towns and villages in the Vaucluse when lunchtime arrives cafes suddenly change to restaurants. If you don't want lunch - get lost attitude. Le Comptoir is different - just a beer @ 1300? No problem.Tourist stroll, the waiters stroll, all is relaxed, but don't get me wrong, the service is fine, and unusually for the south of France, the staff are friendly.A place to remember.

We stopped in Lauris on our way to Lourmarin. We loved the village and had coffee at Bistrot Jeannette. While there we reviewed the luncheon menu and were so impressed we almost called the restaurant in Lourmarin to cancel our reservation. But, we did not. We will return to Bistrot Jeannette on our next trip!
