Home of San Diego's most delicious sandwich and outrageously tasty old stylie Italian American food and great service. On my quest for the ultimate toasted sub sandwich, I found Bongiovanni's. Excellent excellent classic food, reasonable prices in an unexpected location.

I have eaten here several times and stopped by today with a couple of friends before heading out and doing some hiking. You can be guaranteed that your lunch will be very good, and very filling! I elected for the meatball sandwich today, the dining area was very clean and there was plenty of room for us to sit. Our orders were taken very quickly and the staff polite and professional. She came by a couple of times while are food was being prepared to see if we needed anything. The food was delivered in a timely manner and as expected was very fresh and filling! We at quickly so we could get to our activity, I think the server picked up on our rush and checked with us one more time to see If we needed anything else. We said we were done, and our check was delivered within a minute! Very attentive staff, very clean dining area and excellent food! Highly recommended!

My family went to the Filippis Pizza Grotto in Santee Ca and had a great meal. We had the several meals which included Eggplant Parmigiana with Spaghetti, and 3 Half & Half menu items which included Ravioli & Lasagna, and Baked Manicotti. Filippis Meat sauce is so good and tasty. Their Garlic Bread was very good, and the Eggplant Parmigiana was SO GOOD ! We took so much food home that we ate on for 2 days. The restaurant was packed because it is great food especially for the price. Check it out !

We had to wait ove 30 minutes to be seated, thought that would have meant that the food would be great. Food was good, but not great. Salad was alright, bread a bit burnt, no garlic butter, place was busy, hard to get attention. Chicken parm was good, homemade noodles were lacking, vegetable primavera needed seasoning. Odd for an Italian restaurant to skip on the garlic. A bit disappointing.
We dined at Italian Cucina at the Barona Casino. We were invited by the casino to enjoy a dinner for two for my birthday. Food was superb. Service was too. There was lots of food, so we enjoyed some for lunch the next day.We enjoyed a bottle of Callaway wine.We started with for me a salad; my husband soup.We then shared two appetizers - their calamari was superb. We also had bruchetta. For my main, they had a special lobster dish for the day. . So good. My husband loved his beef dish. For dessert I enjoyed sorbet and my husband had tiramisu. It was so nice of the restaurant to put a Happy Birthday chocolate on each.Overall, this is a superb restaurant with good service.

We go to Mario's often for the M-Th Special: salad, bread, pasta, lasagna and a small pizza for about $21- the best deal in town. The house wines are fine. Other menu items are also very good. The baked ziti is excellent. Salads are large and have field greens, not iceberg (except for the antipasto salad). The weekday buffet lunch is very tasty and a deal- try it if you're in the area and want a break from fast food or the ubiquitous tacos shops around. Service is friendly but not always fast, so be patient. Just sit back and enjoy the bread.
This place specializes in pizza pies or slices. The prices were not anything to write home about unlike the barona coffee and the nearby taco stand. If you don't care for pizza they served spaghetti and sub sandwiches.

First let me say this is another restaurant my family goes to on a regular basis. We have seen the family that owns this place grow over the years. The food is always consistent and at a good value. I always recommend the chicken parm, My kids love the pizza and of course my second food love there is the stuffed shells. The dinning area is comfortable and welcoming in the warm months I love to eat outside. My only complaint is I miss the wood burning stove, I understand why they removed it I've burned my butt more then once. Overall this is an awesome place to bring you family and enjoy an amazing Italian dinner.

I decided on the Monday night special which was half a lasagna, soup or salad, and garlic bread. The salad was ordinary but that lasagna, so good with amazing cheese pull! I can't imagine how big a normal size piece is because I couldn't finish this half piece. The garlic bread was good for slopping up sauce. Just delicious! I ordered a piece of raspberry cheesecake to take back to the hotel. It looks yummy! Definitely would come back. All this for $13.90, great bargain for great food!
