I never thought I would get tired of japanese food...but apparently, I had to shift a bit.. found this tucked in the 4th flr of Celeo in the kofu station. Enjoyed the food. Not quite as authentic but it's ok. Good place to eat on a budget.
Lets start with the good: The pizza. Not the best, but well made in a good wood oven. The bad: in my opinion the rest of the menu. Here is my Problem: The first time I went, I ordered a spaghetti Genovese. Simple dish, hard to mess-up. What I received was a bright green dish. The sauce was very sweet, with little to no taste of "pesto" sauce. Instead the sauce was based on avocado and I don't know what.If you call a dish "Genovese" That's what you should make. If you want to make something original, give it an original taste. I had the same problem with most of the other dishes.Next the Menu. If you open an Italian restaurant, Spellcheck your menu. Most of the Italian words were misspelled. I ended up proofing it for the owner. The Atmosphere is nice, but the style pf cooking is misrepresented.
While small (perhaps 8 tables total) the wine selection was fantastic (Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017 excellent) and the variety of antipasto and pasta entree endless. Service is attentive ( Google Translate needed) . Caprese very fresh local tomatoes/basil. Campagnolo loaded with yummy mushrooms, zucchini and tomatoes. Bolognese rich with earthy undertones.
