at the base of the mountain right behind the Okushiga gondola, Chalet Christiana is open most of the ski day, serving fantastic fresh made pastries, a range of hot and cold drinks and lunch options...including a mini salad bar. Very good value but it is the pastries that really draw you in...great on a snowy day

Since it had only been open two weeks (as I write this), it was hard to discover this restaurant (only one review on TA). That will change. Some of the best pizza Iâve had anywhere. Wonderful dough, delicious variety. We had the pepperoni, the spinach and the white sauce house special. Salads were a hit, as was the truffle edamame. Great atmosphere for families or couples. In a former parking garage.

After gunning it from 8.30am til the lifts shut at Nozawa, we were lucky enough to walk straight into Green Peas. Wonderful, friendly service and delicious pasta and pizzas. This was the perfect way to complete a perfect day.

Perhaps coming from Singapore, we get really good Italian food so my expectations were slightly higher. The pizza was really good but I wasnât impressed with the vongole. However itâs packed with westerners when we were there. If you must have western food in Nozawa, I guess this isnât so bad.

Regular guests at the Phenix. Food is always consistent and served with an anachronistic style. This is Italian, Japanese styles. Lovely hot bread, good wine list, fabulous salads and a range of meat, fish and pasta dishes. Dishes start around 1800 Yen per dish. Bread 300Yen. Cover Charge 500Yen.One night I ordered the pasta of the day...omg. Spaghetti with meat sauce. We were skiing in Italy last year and I did not get pasta that good! This meat ragout sauce was the best I have ever had. I know that is a big statement. I could taste every ingredient but the balance of everything was like a symphony in my mouth. Please send me the recipe!!!
