The restaurant is charming and the staff could not be more accommodating, patient, and helpful! Due to prices and menu, I would not recommend for children. There were six of us in our party and each one thought the food was excellent.

Serving authentic Northern Italian Cuisine for over 20 years. We have weekly specials and can accommodate private parties and/or catering. Check out our back to school special from now until November 25th 2017 in your local Hometown magazine or Facebook p
Wonderful personalized service and amazing food. We decided to order "family style", 2 pasta dishes (clam linguine/capellini pomodoro) and 2 meat (skirt steak with mushroom sauce [YUM YUM YUM], chicken milanese) between 3 of us. Huge portions, which arrived piping hot. How often can you say that at a restaurant? I got to take home the leftovers which easily could have fed 2 more people. Just looking over the menu to get the correct spelling of the dishes, I can't wait to go back with a bigger group so that we can order more of the dishes to try - especially the pasta ones.

Food: 5.0I tried one of the owner/chef's specials at the suggestion of his daughter/hostess: Finocchi, which is a pasta filled with pear and gorgonzola cheese. Phenomenal! The octopus appetizer was tasty and well presented. I topped off the meal with a slice of tiramisu, which was excellent, as well.Service: 5.0From the moment we entered, we were greeted by one of the owner's daughters, who was serving as Hostess, as warmly as one could imagine. We were graciously seated, and were immediately attended to by our waiter.Atmosphere: 4.8Pleasant dining atmosphere. Tables are close together, but not uncomfortably so.Overall:Definitely the best Italian food in the Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, South Miami area, and maybe the best in Miami!

This place offers average food. Not gourmet dinning experience at all. Sincerely there are much better options in Miami

Tried Caffe Portofino based on several excellent reviews on multiple web sites including Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, our meal was average and a disappointment. The Caesar salads were served with old, yellowing lettuce smothered with dressing. The entrees each had beef but very salty that kept us very thirsty throughout the meal. Really confused as to how this restaurant achieved such favorable ratings. One thing is for sure, however, this will be a one-time visit.

We have been to several of this chains locations but this one was unimpressive. The pasta fragioli had a lot of bacon in it. While I liked it they should have described it on the menu or the waitress should have given a heads up, The pizza was 2 or 3 out of ten. Not a recommendation

I could finally found a place to eat without stress and noise! Secreto is a tiny restaurant with an incredibly good service and excellent food. Italian food surrounded by Cuban paintings and the best service in town. Not cheap, but worth the experience! Thank you, guys...we had a splendid night!

My husband and I used to go to The Big Cheese all the time while studying at UM 10 + years ago. We were just in town last week, and wanted to take our daughters to somewhere we used to go back when we were dating. It was SO good! Our daughters loved the cheese pizza, my husband loved his calzone, and I loved my spaghetti with chicken and mushrooms (The Walter KBC Special I think it was called). I have dreamed about those garlic rolls, and they were just as good as we remembered! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Our first visit to Osteria Vecchio Piemonte, but not our last. Located in a strip mall where parking was a bit tight, you enter a small restaurant where space is at a premium. We had reservations and were promptly seated at a table for two in the center of the restaurant near the door. The tabletop is somewhat small and we kept moving things around to accommodate the plates. Service was exceptional. However, given the size of the place, it seemed a bit "busy" with all the servers moving around the tables. That having been said, the servers work together to serve, clear tables and provide a wonderful dining experience. We ordered a Malbec and started with the Antipasto Misto - which was large enough to be a meal by itself. This was followed by the delicious sogliola al profumi and risotto frutti de mare. During our visit on a Saturday night, there was not one table open. It seemed everyone that walked in was known to the staff with hardy handshakes and hugs. Reservations are a must! We finished off the evening with a slice of torta de limincello! Delicious. When we left, the wait staff made a point to shake hands and thank us for our visit. A rare and wonderful experience in Miami.
