Went for early dinner with relatives over from the states who are staying in Boldon. Tried Leonardos for the first time and hugely impressed. Very welcoming, we have 4 year olds and and restaurant is very family accommodating. Good menu, plenty of choice, excellent happy hour deals and a specials board.Food was first glass, we had pizzaâs, pasta and I went for beef stroganoff which was delicious. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to others.

Food was good, had the roast lamb which was a good sized portion and very tasty. However service throughout was poor. Long wait to order mains, didnât bring drinks we ordered (had to chase) and were left waiting after main course. Restaurant wasnât heaving, so surprised at level of service.

Me and my partner attend this restaurant about once a month maybe more and everytime the food is brilliant that goes without saying. However today we visited 08/07/19 and the waiting service was terrible 20mins after seated before we were asked for drinks, then another 10mins before ordering food.To top things off the menu said peroni lager £4.40Then it stated beer/lager £3.80 I opted for the cheaper option to be told to only lager available is only the peroni charged at £4.40 unless I wanted Guinness which is not a lager I feel this was a way to force me into the higher price of lager rather than the £3.80Also the happy hour states on a board it runs all night Sunday to Thursday, when a couple asked to use the happy hour they were told it has ended, at this time is wasn't even 18:30 the waiting staff clearly over charging decent customers, who knows if there keeping the over charge or what as normally when we attend the owner is on site, but this day he was not. Very possibly the last time I visit food amazing however the service a scam

Called in on spec and having been here about 18 months ago, I was happy that the food and service remain excellentWe started with our favourite Mussels to share that came in a delicious tomato and garlic sauce. The mussels were juicy and a good portion. The only thing lacking was some bread to mop up the sauce. The mains came and my Wife had a tasty penne carbonara and I had CalzoneBoth were very tastyNo room for a sweet after the feastFor price and excellent service with pleasant surroundings, then look no further

This is a breathe of fresh air, staff are friendly an professional and the food was superb. The salmon and beetroot starter was exceptional the chicken, blue cheese and ham was very good. The only issue is the lotion size, seemed to be for a family of three. Keep the quality, reduce the the potions.

We had not booked but popped in here on Bank Holiday Sunday. It is a very spacious restaurant. We were shown to a table quickly and provided with menus. Our order was taken promptly and the main arrived equally quickly and all (4) agreed that they were very good. Decided to have a dessert, what a Menu!!!, There must have been nearly 20 to choose from. I changed my mind several time. Then they arrived they too were disgusting (ly) delicious.Great food great service great prices. What more do you want?

We usually come here every sunday for the carvery with all family, was good for few weeks but today i got complain from the guy who serve the carvery about me piling up my plate cause i only pay for small plate. I thought the idea of CARVERY is u can take whatever vegs u want for ur plate. What a way to treat a customer. So for the sake of less than £2 different they prefer losing out on customer. We will never come back for foods here anymore, its ruin our sunday meal and leaving us with very sour tasteFirst of all let me apologise for not replying sooner but I have just picked this up.It had been noted that you were week after week paying for a childâs portion and then pilling up your plate with what was obviously a huge portion probably bigger than a full portion. When you ordered on this occasion you were informed by the staff that a child portion was for a child or elderly person. You argued continuously that you only wanted a child portion so the staff member allowed it. You then filled your plate to overflowing with what was never a childâs portion and you were politely asked to âtake it easyâ to which you replied you were not happy and were given a refund and left. The rest of your âfamilyâ stayed and enjoyed their meal. It didnât âruin our Sunday mealâ. You say you wonât come back yet your âfamilyâ has been back several times, they just donât bring you with them. Why did you not just pay the extra £2 for an adult portion and you could have had as much vegetables as you wanted. So for the sake of £2 you are missing out on a meal out with your family.Incidentally we have photographâs of your heaped up plate for anyone to see if they think we were unfair. A childâs portion is a childâs portion. You were being very unfair in the way you conducted yourself. Several of our customers had commented on your behaviorSo far as never coming back, we would not wish to see you here again.Giovanniâs.
