Reviews on Italian food in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The city of "New Bamboo," Hsinchu sways like a sturdy reed under the cooling breeze that rolls from the Taiwan Strait. Buzzing with the activity of numerous science and technology universities, Hsinchu is forward-thinking, attracting high-tech companies from around the world—a charming juxtaposition of modernity and antiquity for the oldest city in northern Taiwan. Hsinchu's historic moat flows through central parks and green spaces, and the scholarly carvings on the Guan Di Temple contribute to the city's intellectual sensibility. So happy with this wonderful wine bar. The interior looks very stylish, and I especially love that they have outside seating (just for two). The wine selection is good quality and original, at very reasonable prices. They also serve delicious tapas style pickles, cheeses and cured meats. To top it off the staff is very friendly and helpful, I highly recommend this place!Dear Yangzhongshiu, appreciate the kind review. In addition to cold cuts and cheeses which are imported from Europe, we make all our other food from scratch using local ingredients. Our owner is German born and loves cooking and eating mediterranian food. We have recently added hot tapas, incl. pulled pork, juicy mango chicken and spanish tortillas. Our wines are imported directly from small wineries and exclusively available in Taiwan at our store. Our focus in selecting wines is to provide superior value to our customers and we sell our wines at low retail prices for take out and dine in.Thanks again for your visit and hope to see you soon. I know that I had written my review in Jan 2018 but I canât stop to write this again. I want to tell everyone that this hotel is highly recommend if you are biz travellers in Hsinchu. This hotel is certify eco friendly hotel and their bathroom equipped with warm blower. You need not have to jump up and down taking shower in winter! Haha...Other main reason is the people who work there. The staffs are super friendly and I know a guy name Wiiberg will come out from his office to say hello! And every morning, I could see the concierge staffs standby get ready to greet & ask you whether need any help. I felt so warmth and they donât mind giving extra mile if you need help. I would to say a big thanks to the all the staffs of their excellent service!! Check in on 10 Jan/ room 1423!

This is a delightful cafe at the rural edge of Hsinchu City with a menu featuring pizza and other Italian favorites. Its colorful and casual style likely appeals to the students at two nearby universities, but its food is seriously good, much of it cooked in an outdoor, wood-fired oven. We ordered several different pizzas, including a clam pizza, and they were all excellent. The service was good - I think an English-speaking diner would be ok. It would be fun to come back in the evening - there is a bar (of sorts) and I suspect the place is charmingly lit.

We were having dinner together with two Italian guys and they made good comments about the pizza, a bit reluctant to say that it was very good. However, one of them ask for tiramisu after that and started saying it was like the one that cooks "la mia mamma"! It was enough for me to order one for me. So I can now say by myself: bravissimo!

I walked past this restaurant earlier in the day, and was pretty impressed with the menu, so came back to try it out for dinner.I ordered Gorgonzola Geese Gratin and then the tri-colour (Italian Flag) pizza. The Gorgonzola Geese Gratin was accompanied by four absolutely perfect pastry puffs. The gratin itself had little of the titular Gorgonzola and a lot of chopped egg in it. Canât recommend, but oh the puffs! The pizza was just about as perfect a pizza as Iâd ever eaten. Well done kitchen, especially as it was very busy on the night I was there.Staff were a mixed bag, but enough good to outweigh the ordinary, and as I said it was very busy, so no points deducted on that account.

Good food. Steaks were good and cooked very well, from medium rare, to medium and medium well donePrices very high, very limited selection in scotch, whiskey and wines.NOTE, WE WERE SURPRISED AT THE PRICE WHEN WE WENT TO PAY, BUT EVEN MORE SURPRISED WHEN THEY DID'T ACCEPT VISA. CREATING AN EMBARRASSING MOMENT WHILE WE FIGURED OUT WHERE THE NEAREST ATM WAS, AND IT WASN'T THAT CLOSE!!!I don't think we'll go back especially when they don't accept major credit cards and the meals are so expensive

The reviews would have put me off. Glad they didn't. I was with a party of 8. We ordered a bunch of appetizers (salad, cheese etc). All good. The bread was a little stale but compared to the hotel food we had been eating all week it was fine. Then we shared pizzas and steak. The pizzas were excellent. Especially the squid ink one. Really tasty. The steak was also perfectly cooked and tender. Wrapped it up with a tiramisu. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Quirky decorations (obsession with owls) and attentive service made it a perfect end to the week away from home. It's a shortish walk back up the hill to the lakeshore hotel gives an opportunity to walk off some of the carbs.

Pizza Rock Hsinchu offers authentic stone-baked, thin-crust, Italian pizza, baked pasta, panini sandwiches, salads, soup, imported drinks, beer, wine, in a warm and friendly rock and roll themed restaurant! It's the perfect place to grab a slice and a bee
This is a very thin, crispy crust pizza (I usually go for the thicker type). I got #1 with sausage, which had a great balance of sauce, basil, & garlic. Amazing (ie., belgian) beers for cheap (1/3 US price, 2x Belgian price), with nice music (not loud), too. A great find and next to Hotel Royal!

This place is one of the best coffee places I have been in Taiwan. I took the cold brew coffee, which was excellent. Free water is available as well. In fact those coffee places are rather expensive, you'r value for money is very big. Because unlike in Europe it is very normal to stay as long as you want to drink your coffee.
