il Borgo is located in a street with many Italian restaurants and pizza outlets but... if you want a great meal with authentic Italian wines and service then this place is excellent. The couple who own and operate this restaurant are delightful and the food is really fabulous. I canât wait to back and bring more friends and have another great evening. Thank you so much for your amazing review, we are very glad you enjoyed your experience with us. See you soon then! :)

Nice place and kind people, but not an Italian pizzeria.Strange kind of pizza, like the one with sausage, salami, ham, and prosciutto together, I could be a bit confused to eat so many cured meat.I have never seen something like this in Italy. Italian cheeses that are net even similar than a real Italian cheese. Prosciutto not so tasty.Few beers, about 8/10 dollars each. The dough is not bad, but you can find something better in Melbourne. Good place if you live around and you don't want move too much.Expensive, 22/25 dollars each pizza.

The food was good, the experience disappointing. Our three course meal was served in under ONE HOUR, despite the request for some time between courses. The tables were so close that on two occasions the waitress placed her backside on our table. The owner and front of house is moody, mainly rude.I have since found an alternate local Italian restaurant and will be going there in the future.

From the moment you walk in till the moment you leave we felt comfortable and relaxed. The owner Eric went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes. He has a lovely singing voice too the food was excellent all four of us had something different and each one was perfect.

A venue where the food is about the authentic Italian flavours using seasonal produce, featuring impressive Italian and Aussie wine list and impeccable service. It was an experience that was memorable and gastronomically satisfying. It was not difficult to see why this establishment has won many awards.

This friendly and family owned and operated restaurant care about their customers and deliver delicious food. They have a very clear understanding of catering for someone whoâs Coeliac - first hand. They also understand fructose intolerance. The staff will help guide you though whatâs possible if food intolerances are part of your life. The dishes are quite large as is quite normal with Italian restaurants, the flavours are lovely. Have eaten here a few times over the last 4 years, always delightful.Thank you fifiB07! We understand the frustration that those with dietary requirements face when eating out. Absolutely sublime - home cooked southern Italian food by a passionate family with the freshest seasonal ingredients. Home grown olives, the freshest sardines, incredible slow cooked rabbit, veal osso buck to die for and and a sharp and savoury radicchio and beetroot salad. First time visitor and since we are always on the hunt for new places to experience this Italian eatery fit the bill. Very good reviews on Trip Advisor convinced us it was worth trying.Quite small but intimate place on busy Burgundy street. There are no bookings mid week but not sure about weekends. We got a table with no issue and were warmly greeted by the owner. I believe the menu/set up has changed recently, we were told that it was a "tapas" style menu, with the individual food items neatly displayed near the bar. I've been to Barcelona & Milan several times so I personally love this type of experience and at $3.50 per item you simply choose which of the many food items you want and they bring it out to your table. You can order some things from a blackboard but it really caters for people that like to try things first then go up again if they want more. They have a great little drinks menu, quite a few beers and some very good wines by the glass. My wife & I both had the Rose from the Yarra valley and it was excellent. The food was excellent, everything we tried we liked, not complicated food, just wholesome tasty and light. For us this is definately somewhere we will come back to. I would imagine that on weekends it could be very busy but it isn't the type of place you would typically sit down for hours so they could turn the tables over quickly.

The menu which is changed weekly after Chef David has researched seasonally what is appropriate and will have the best outcome for the customer . TONIGHTS delights consisted of sardines marinated in fennel, orange, pine nuts, sultanas, the most incredible flavours textures and combinations. We then shared hand made pasta , ( Which David hand rolls ) Ravioli filled with cicoria spinach buffalo ricotta and burnt butter and sage and then an amazing Spaghetti Nero , squid ink pasta with shark bay crab meat, coffin bay clams , anchovies , garlic and parsley - Just exquisite .Oven baked Lakes entrance blue eye was our choice for our mains and then we shared a beautifully light and flavoursome Tiramisu, Rhubarb Panna cotta , Chocolate Assassin cake which was my favourite for its mousse like quality and richness.David and Emilia must be congratulated for what they have created here a fabulous Italian journey which captures true authentic Italian foodWe will certainly be coming back very very soon.
