I went to Andros Restaurant on a recommendation on a review and really enjoyed mylunch. I ordered a classic hamburger with cheese that came out perfectly cooked and the French Fries that were made for me. Their little dish of cole slaw was excellent. It was creamy and well spiced. The whole meal was enjoyable and I was glad I was able to give the cook something to do because the place was empty at 5:00pm.The service could not have been nicer and the waiter gave me his full attention without hovering over me. He also watched my refills and gave me two without asking. The restaurant has a nice menu and an extensive amount of home baked desserts.

Old school Italian neighborhood place with pictures of celebrities covering the walls and frankie valley playing on the jukebox. We had clams oreganata, long hot peppers, and shrimp Beeps, all excellent. I had to deduct one point for not being able to eat at the bar, and for being rushed.

Italian Home Made Style
Our party of five discovered Luigiâs by chance and found this traditional Italian restaurant a pleasant surprise. It is in the Forest Hill section of Newark and long a mainstay in the neighborhood. We were the first to arrive for lunch in the small storefront restaurant of a dozen tables. When we left, every table was full.It has a full traditional menu which we started with stuffed mushrooms and antipasto. The mortadella and salami were nicely garnished with olives, cheese and tomatoes. The bread was fresh and warm. Our entrees consisted of large portions. The Veal Luigi, Chicken Napolitano, Chicken Sorrentino and Arugula Salad were served with an abundance of side salads and pasta. The cuisine was a nice oasis in the urban landscape. Nevertheless, from a constructive culinary critique, the kitchen can always improve. Some dishes had large portions of hot peppers and tomatoes, but adding some cooked mushrooms and onions would have added more color and texture to the entrees. The Chicken Napolitano could have had a seared glaze of panko instead of sprinkled bread crumbs that lacked consistency. The black olives in the antipasto could have more ripe texture instead of looking like shriveled prunes. It is BYOB, but we ordered soft drinks, ice tea and hot tea. We found that the milk served with the tea could have been cooler than room temperature and wish that the refills would have been complimentary instead of charged for each serving. Service was attentive and friendly but uneven on certain orders. Despite these minor items, we found Luigiâs to offer great value and would return to try other menu items.

This is a solid choice for pizza near the Prudential Center. Nice open space, friendly service. They have a more limited menu before events but there is still plenty to choose. We found the tasty to be very tasty and well prepared (and I say this as a NY-based pizza snob). The chicken wings however, were overcooked and dry. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal.

Recently went to a Red Bulls game with some friends who all met at Nino's for a pregame dinner. This is your typical North Jersey Italian pizzeria/restaurant serving all of your favorite traditional Italian dishes. Food is good, prices what you would expect, portions large and the service is great. Even on a game night with two large parties, the wait for our food was no longer then usual. The plus here is that unlike other of these types of restaurants, this one has a liquor license. So instead of paying ridiculous prices for beer at the stadium, have a few at Nino's for about 1/3rd the price. We did. They also have free parking in the strip mall lot. Close to Red Bull Arena, I would highly recommend Nino's for a pre or post game meal and will certainly return when we go to our next game.
