Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Gyor. Győr (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈɟøːr] ( listen); German: Raab, Slovak: Ráb, names in other languages) is the most important city of northwest Hungary, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron County and Western Transdanubia region, and—halfway between Budapest and Vienna—situated on one of the important roads of Central Europe. The city is the sixth-largest in Hungary, and one of the seven main regional centres of the country.

We visited the place on a Friday afternoon. We were lucky as when we arrived there were only few people, otherwise when 5-10 people place an order at the same time, you can wait min. 30 mins for your food which is...ridiculous. I would wait for a food prepared by Paul Bocuse maybe so long, not for such simple food what Vapiano offers. We ordered 2 kind of pasta and 1 pizza. The pizza is easy to judge, it was the worst I ever tasted. Tasteless crap. I can even make a much better one at home despite I don't have any big pizza oven at home...So, in one of the pastas one ingredient should have been spring onions. And you guess right, they apologized that they don't have it. Like we would talk about passion fruit delivered from the other end of the world. But no, we talk about simple spring onions. The Spar supermarket is about 20 meters away (despite they mainly have rotten or bad quality vegetables all the time)...Anyway, price value is really bad here and it has nothing to do with the real italian cuisine. Their only "luck" is that the food court in the mall Ãrkád is bad and the selection of restaurants in the whole city is a disaster, so probably people have nowhere else to go out (especially on Sundays when most of restaurants are closed(!!??) in the city..). It took Vapiano 10 years to open their restaurant in GyÅr after the 1st one in Budapest, either they didn't see any potential in this part of the country or they focused on Budapest only (which I can understand as almost everything concentrates in Budapest, countryside cities are "half-dead" cheap looking places).

I was so excited to be introduced to this specialty food and drink shop. Many items from all over the place. I especially like their selection of Hungarian craft brews. I am currently enjoying Credo from Hedon. It is a smooth Smash IPA. Most specialty Hungarian beers are new to me, and I am so excited this shop has a great selection. My wife really likes their coffee taste. Can't wait to explore more of this gem-of-a-place!Thx!
We were returning from the airport and needed some lunch. We decided to find a new place to eat and all had some pizza craving so we stopped here based on reviews. We were not disappointed with this choice. The staff were friendly and the food was very good as well.

It's hard to find delicious thin-crust pizza in Hungary so I'm glad to have tried this place. Toppings taste good, limited veggie options but they have whole-grain crust, which is a nice plus. Interior is quite nice though there aren't many places to sit. They sell the pizza by slice, it's a bit pricey compared to other pizza places but it's worth it. Service is not good though.

Spent a good evening here. The staff were very helpful and attentive, without being overly so. I chose the tortellini which was perfect, and the local wine suggested by the English speaking waiter (Laci) complimented the meal very well. If you're in the area, have a meal there. You won't be disappointed.

Small italian locally, great to enjoy a coffee, glas of wine or have some delicious Italian food. We are looking forward to your visit.
We visited this place many times. It is really an authentic place, even the location, it is located in a small street close to the main square. I think they make the best espresso in the city. Giacomo, the owner, is a very nice, friendly and helpful guy. He makes the place even more authentic. They have also great antipasti and wine list. Great place for a little time out.

Difficult to enter if you do not speak Hungarian or German as they seem the only languages spoke by the staff. However one we asked for the Manager and discovered that he was from Calabria all was well. The food was original and cooked to perfection. The Nero D'Avola wine, superb. The manager offered a nice Amaro del Capo, typical of Calabria. We Felt welcome and at home and the prices were very good too!

Been here 4 times since 2017 August when it was opened. If you like pizza, you cant miss this place! Small with 2 tables but the food is awesome. For sure best in town with the thin, crispy Italian pizza. Family Business run by a guy who worked abroad and win pizza competitions. Some special ingredients are from Austria, to deliver best quality. Coffee is also great. Really value for money !
