A group of four of us visited as just down from the villa we were staying in. We ended up visiting twice over the week with both visits being perfect. Steak tartar was a particular favourite, although the fish and other courses were also excellent. The chocolate desert was beyond incredible. If ever anywhere near this restaurant it is a must visit. The staff were also brilliant, even although my Italian is awful they put up with me and understood my English without problems.

Chef Cannavacciulo is one of the most famous chefs in Italy, a bigger-than-life character on the local Masterchef program. The celebrity status and frequent absence from the restaurant does not affect in any way the absolute excellence of any dish produced for the enjoyment of the guests, though. Traveling from south to north through the tasting menu will allow you to discover and enjoy the perfection of cooking techniques displayed by the talented and passionate team put together by the chef. However, the dishes from Campania on the a la carte menu are the ones that express the heart and soul of Chef Cannavacciulo. The best cuisine experience from a stay at La Villa Crespi will be enjoyed when two evenings are spent at the restaurant, one to discover the various features of the tasting menu, and the following one to get deeper into the life experience of the chef expressed in the cuisine from his home region. The sommelier is also very versatile and will know not only how to pair wines with dishes skillfully, but also how to sense what your wine affinities are to complete a more personal experience. Many team members are young and in development, but definitely with the capabilities and character to help the restaurant grow towards perfection...

We just had an unbelievably good 7 course meal for 20 people from our golf society, the wine was excellent and all at a fantastic price. We will definitely be going back again. The family and staff running the restaurant are wonderful. If you are in or near Borgomanero, do yourself a favour and give them a call. We ordered a pizza kebab and a pizza naturale. Very tasty and good quality. Friendly atmosphere and waiters. Correct price. Nice you don't have to pay coperto.HoweverI would like to make the following suggestions:1) there were too many flies zooming around; something could be done about that; 2) knives were not sharp to cut the pizza, and the special shape of the forks make it difficult to put pressure while cutting the pizza; 3) waiters keep the place clean but it is not very tasteful that they use cleaning spray in the neighbourhood of other tables while customers are eating. All in all, a good experience.

An excellent typical cuisine for the region. A must to visit if in the area! Welcomed with some in-house prepared sangria, we started off with a nice platter with different sliced meats and cures and cheeses. Perfect with some fine wine. Following hat we had a meat tagliata with fresh fries. Dessert was also to die for. Excellent service and a comfortable environment. Highly recommended.

We walked down to this lovely restaurant to check it out one evening (its a 15 minute walk from Soriso central). The staff speak very little English and our Italian is worse! However we were made very welcome, we had drinks and looked at the menu, they brought us some yummy snacks to have with our drink and we agreed to return a few days later to eat. (Total cost for a large glass of prosecco and one beer was â¬5 with delicious canapés for free!)We went back with the 6 in our party - all prepared, having photographed their menu and then translated it at home. The owner agreed bring us a range of antipasti to share - we had delicious little soufflé/tarts (2 types), ham with melon and also seared tuna. We followed this with various yummy pasta or risotto dishes and were then too full to eat more. Several glasses of wine plus a few beers, soft drinks for the children and then coffees were all consumed. Then complimentary limoncello was provided and free ice creams for the youngsters - our total bill was â¬170. A great fun evening with delicious food, despite the language barriers!

Everything from start to finish was just amazing! Excellent service, very friendly and casual. The food was fantastic, very fresh and local. Small menu but varied, something for everyone. Everything arrived together piping hot, perfect timing. I can't wait to have their deep fried zucchini flowers again. It's a small place so make a reservation. If you are looking for excellent food whist sitting in the calm of the countryside then this restaurant is perfect. The views from the patio are beautiful and the small fishing lake behind offers a picturesque backdrop. The food is delicious. We choose: soup, cheeses, hams, pasta and salad. Every dish was tasty and the ingredients fresh. We were there as a family however it would be a perfect place for anyone.
