The town had a population of 5,194 year-round residents in the Canada 2011 Census, as well as summer residents sometimes referred to as "Islanders" because of the Thousand Islands in the Saint Lawrence River, Gananoque's most important tourist attraction. The Gananoque River flows through the town and the St. Lawrence River serves as the southern boundary of the town.

Really enjoyed our meal at Riva, books by friends who live locally. Excellent service at arrival and from the waitress at our table. The food was well presented and very tasty, and we particularly enjoyed the calamari, the pizzas and the vegetarian pasta. Worth seeking out if youâre visiting the area.

We came to Gananoque for our 30th anniversary. As usual we try to eat at local restaurants rather then chain places. We found Grekoâs thanks to the reviews found here. Totally impressed! We were staying at Holiday Inn and ordered the lasagne. What a great choice! There is only one other place, Theoâs in Orillia that has lasagne this good. For years all other things we have tried have been disappointing. Now we wish we had found this sooner as it was on the last day of our trip to Gananoque. We will definitely be back again! If everything else is as good and obviously by the other reviews it is, they have set the quality standard very high.

Our group had a very good meal and enjoyed our stop here. The menu is very large and offered something for everyone. Our food was served quickly and was very tasty.
