Service is horrible and staff is lying. We went there at 8:30 pm. Restaurant inside was empty. Waiter told us everything is reserved and the guests are still coming. Nobody eats at 9 pm in Bad Homburg. Anyway we ate somewhere else and we walked to get to our car at 9:45 the restaurant was still empty

We had been more than 10 colleagues and were placed on the upper floor in this otherwise very crowded restaurant (on a Tuesday night!). We were given 6 different starters to share and I loved both the funghi porcini, beef tartar, scallops and the calamari, while asparagus and shrimps were also ok. For the mains I ordered orata (dorado) filet with vegetables, a light and still flavourful dish. All in all combined with the nice and relatively low priced Pinot Bianco from Alto Adige as well as a smooth red Malvasia from Apulia this was an excellent experience. Definitely will come back with the family.

Every year for 3 years in February I attended a trade fair in Frankfurt. We were there for a week each time. Thats a long time for that activity. Also, we saw very few UK customers but were obliged to be there by the German MD. Every year we stayed in Friedrichsdorf, in the same hotel, the Mercure, and pretty much had a block booking at the same italian restaurant, La Montanara which was great. Its a fairly small restaurant, very rustic and traditional. Very friendly too. I have eaten so much pizza and drunk so much grappa in this place that I'm sure some must be incorporated into my DNA! My real favorite pizza there is the one with several different types of mushrooms on it. I am a veggie and I dread to think how they made these mushrooms taste so meaty. Absolutely wonderful, I have never tasted anything so good anywhere else. Most nights we would drink a fair quantity of complimentary grappa and then buy loads more. We had many snowball fights walking back from this restaurant to our hotel. I'm not sure I ever ate the pasta here because the pizzas were so good, but some colleagues did and loved it. In the billion times we ate there, I never heard anybody complain about anything ever. One things which was quite funny, was that you had to leave the resaurant by a side door to use the toilet, and its was very very cold there in February I can tell you.Its quite a small restaurant too and when full (which it always was when we descended on it), its was difficult to move around in there, but it was excellent fun. The people who ran the place were so nice to us every night! If you ever stay in this town - go there its great!

Amazing evening (Sunday) we weren't sure that anywhere would be open! Off the main Hugenotten Strasse in a small courtyard; we found locals (always a good sign) eating and drinking under trees and canopies at small tables. The Italian waiter who spoke excellent German and not bad English was extremely hospitable and friendly but not overbearing. It amused me to see him sit at different tables when it was their turn to pay. Like old friends they went through what they had eaten and had a good chat at the same time. All extremely relaxing. Not only that but the food was excellent; A tomato and mozzarella salad for me and a rocket and parmesan salad for him; Still not sure which was the best!!! Followed by wiener schnitzel two huge pieces each and excellently cooked; melted in the mouth! Dessert a bit disappointing but that seems to be the status quo in Friedrichsdorf; excellent places for starters and mains, but little in the way of desserts, or brilliant bakeries with cakes and ices to die for...

I´ve watched this place change owners over the years. They always had the best pizza around, the wood-burning oven is enormous and has been in action for all my living memory. However....thanks to Domenico, the padrone for a few years now, it has also become an excellent place for proper , fine Italian dining. The service is very professional, courteous, and, if you´re a local, downright familiar. From fish and mussels to seasonal stuff, porcini mushroms, etc. I have not been disappointed. It seems they have graduated from a simple local pizzeria to a solid all around, even a little fancy restaurant.Congrats !

Finally a quality place with quality ice cream in Bad Homburg. Not commercialized and not that Italian old fashioned Café that we see everywhere. This one has broken the rules and is attracting everyone who passes by, not to mention it's delicious varieties at better prices than the other Italian Cafés.

An excellent Italian restaurant in BH. Conveniently located in the city and really nicely decorated. The staff ia more than polite and very friendly.Though we arrived very late, they served us very professionally. The food is excellent. Real Italian taste. Decently priced.Do not miss the chocolate lava cake!

Quiet restaurant in Friedrichsdorf, italian but not sure if people are Italians (they were sometime talking in this language among them, with strange accent, but when I was talking to them they were always answering in German or English). Anyway: they have a real (or at least, it seems real) wooden hoover for the pizza, and pasta is almost ok. Ok, it maybe is not ok for an Italian, but from a German point of view it was more than acceptable (I took gratin pasta). Ok to not spend too much money when in business trip in this town.

Good, fresh Italian cuisine using best seasonal ingredients. Fresh seasonal white asparagus were much sweeter and tastier than those at the Hotel Steigenberger, for example. Fresh fish, simply but tastily prepared grilled with olive oil and garlic. Pasta was al dente. Very tasty spaghetti with fresh clams. Good service and reasonable wine selection . My favorite casual restaurant in Bad Homburg.
