If you want reasonably priced great Italian restaurant in a hidden corner of Alexandria near Mt. Vernon, you donât want to miss this place. I like lunch time because it is less crowded than evening. Menus are limited for lunch but still great. Instead of going to DC or to McLean expensive Italian restaurants I can recommend this place if you want a quick meal. Whenever I return to Alexandria, I come here at least once if not twice. It is indeed a great family restaurant.

I ate here two days in a row, the first day the service was slow and my fish was waaayyyy over cooked. Expensive for that kind of quality. The second day, service was excellent and a different fish dish was cooked perfectly. Seems that it depends on the staff. So, a 3 is right in the middle and thatâs what I would give this restaurant.

Had mousaka for carry-out. Cones with small side salad and garlic bread for $17. Marinara sauce came on the side. It was okay. Bechamel sauce was not as creamy as I have had in other restaurants and the mousses just was not as tasty. My daughter, who usually eats everything, only ate half of hers. The slice of mousaka was not large, but after tasting it, it didnât matter.

RedRocks is located in the upper King Street area of Old Town, at 904 King Street. The 2,500 square foot space is an open floor plan with an open kitchen, spacious high-back booths, marble table tops, high ceilings and a mezzanine section for great privat
Stopped in for Happy Hour one night when we were visiting DC and staying in Alexandria. They have a fairly generous happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. We got the pepperoni pizza (which was excellent) and the wood fired meatballs, which was plenty of food for the two of us. They also have a decent draft beer selection which is discounted during happy hour too. Meatballs are served with slices of bread. Good, but would have been better had they been toasted. They have several seats at the bar as well as tables in the bar area and in the dining room. It's pleasant and comfortable. The service was very good. They have a bulletin board posted to the left of the bar which seemed oddly placed and sloppy to show their various licenses and permits. If they need to be displayed, why not put them behind some glass? The prices seem a little high (outside of happy hour) but given the location, it's pretty typical. Also, being right downtown parking can be difficult at times. The food is good and we would definitely visit again when we're back in Alexandria.

The food and the experience of this restaurant is soooo good. If you have not yet treated yourself to Landini Brothers, definitely make this a priority!

When you think Italian ...Think IL PORTO!! Old Town"s First Italian Restaurant in the Heart of Old Town's Historic Seaport District. Serving Fine Italian Cuisine since 1973. Let the Italian flag wave you into the restaurant and soon you'll discover why we
Tasty -- but not outstanding. Good service but dark inside. Very well located. Too many dining choices in Old Town for a return visit to this one.Hi Lana! Thank you for leaving us a review. If possible, we would appreciate it if you could expand on your dining experience and why you believe we are tasty but not outstanding. We want to use your feedback to improve our business and to ensure we offer the very best service. Thanks!
This is one of our favorites. It's a small restaurant, but you can always find a seat. The food quality is good and they offer take out.

In Bar Area only Happy Hour (pretty much applies to all National Harbor venues), but it was not crowded and the service was fine. Margarita Pizza was good, but burnt on the bottom in some parts I'd say "scorched" and it ruined the taste (tasted like burnt pizza), but the other parts were very good. Happy Hour wine is not good, I think canyon road, just not worth drinking. Overall, it was OK, won't be back.

This place is great, wonderful ambiance, booths for privacy and a great menu. Party of 6, we chose the table menu, like family-style. The appetizer was fried calamari and shrimp.Ti arrived on a large platter, food 6 inches high. Followed thus with a large ceasar salad, also generous and very tasty- not too much dressing. The entree was meatballs and spaghetti.-delish-hugh meatballs. By this time we could not finish and took it home. Service was prompt and polite. We had dessert of chocolate cake, a huge portion shared by all.

I have been going to Charlie's for some years now and find the food to be excellent and of consistent quality, throughout the years. There is a friendly family atmosphere, and plenty of options to select from. This restaurant is frequented by many in the neighborhood and I would suggest it to others that live in other parts of Maryland, or even Virginia or D.C. You will not regret the travel.
