At La Campagnola Kenilworth NJ (formerly Roberto's), enjoy casual family dining at its best. With our chef from Calabria, Italy we offer a wide variety of exquisite dishes and a extended wine list. We are 4 star Star Ledger rated!
La Campagnola is a gem of a restaurant, with some of the best Italian food to be found in New Jersey. Tucked away in Kenilworth's industrial zone, la Campagnola's outward appearance does no justice to the wonderful menu inside. The owner and staff are friendly and very professional -- the waiters recite the day's menu from memory and can make informed recommendations. While the specials (ex, mussels in brandy cream sauce) are mouthwatering, the standard menu (ex, linguine alla vongole) is solid and well done. All the parmagiana dishes are excellent, so is the chicken La Campagnola. The filet mignon, when available, is perfectly done. The menu tilts toward seafood (scallops on risotto, various shrimp dishes, salmon, etc) but really everything is done quite well. The chef/owner worked for many years at a famous Italian restaurant in Jersey City and he knows the palate of his customers. La Campagnola is a hidden treasure.

We stayed at the Newark Fairfield. One dining option is to call and request delivery from a local restaurant......based on menu, we picked Eli's and were pleasantly surprised by the pizza, the prompt delivery and the charming in-person delivery! The small crispy crust Primavera Pizza ( broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, mushrooms, and please, no garlic!) was excellent and much more than enough for two of us. Actually, Pizza was exactly how we like it, great crust and flavor, NOT gummy with cheese and over sauced. It came HOT, with plates and cutlery, so we could eat in motel breakfast room. Large Greek salad, with dressing on side, was good too.Menu also has salads, subs, entrees, pasta and Philly cheesesteaks, in addition to many Pizza choices.
Stopped here for an Italian got dog- was tasty and greesy- the staff was helpful at this walk up window- ATM on site and great potatoes in a cup- portions are huge

Home of the original XL NY Slice. Since 1956, Sbarro has been serving the XL NY Slice. Starting with made-daily hand stretched dough, San Marzano style sauce and topped with 100% Whole Milk Mozzarella cheese.
An american-italian chain that provides you with a quick but flavorful meal. The pizzas are way much better than the pasta, si take that into account!

We dined at Deninoâs last night and had a great time. They have greatly expanded the menu. We didnât order any, but there are plenty of appetizers and salads to select now. We had our standard pie with half sausage. It was delicious! I tried their cheesecake which was excellent as was the espresso.

My new favorite Italian anywhere. Staying at Newark to catch a flight, and went there with my teenage daughter (college selection trip)- we both can't stop talking about the fantastic food and service. Easy to get to from the hotels around EWR, only 3-4 miles away. We'll be stopping every time we make a trip!

It pains me to write this because Iâve enjoyed some good meals there over the past several years. Was there in November and then again in December. The dining room was cold in December and the eggplant parm a little burnt on the bottom. However, raviolis were delicious as always.Returned again last Sunday. Only the bar area was open (maybe 6 booths). The place has always been a little run down, but it was downright dirty. Was told the dining room was not open cause they didnât have heat and were having trouble getting parts. This has apparently been going on for at least 6 weeks, as it was the same when I was there back in the beginning of November. Bar was cold too. There was a garbage can full of dirty recycling behind me directly next to the coat hook-gross. The gentlemen behind the bar was answering the phone and telling people they were open. There were only 6 booths in the bar, and he should have mentioned that. Booths were full and people were walking out. Again, my dinner was burnt on the bottom. They need to address the heat or close it till itâs fixed. Clean the place-crooked pictures, garbage cans, and dust do not make for a pleasant experience.

We decided to do Pizza and salad for dinner with another couple. They said Santilla's pizza was the best in New Jersey. Maybe it's the best for out-of-towners, who do't know what pizza should taste like. We ordered two medium size pizzas with vegetables. We paid $67! The crust was burned, the pizza was boring, they were skimpy with the veggies. I WOULD NEVER WASTE CALORIES EATING THIS PIZZA AGAIN, EVEN IF IT WAS FREE! Who voted for this place.....there is some seriously yummy pizza places in MJ, but this one is NOT it>

You can order the tasty traditional Italian entrees such as Marsala, Parm and standard pastas but they have an extended menu where there are many entrees not normally seen locally. Shrimp with Broccoli Rabe, Seafood Canollini, Short Ribs with Risotto, Italian Stuffed Sole. To be honest we have never had the pizza, we are spoiled by another local institution. For a lovely meal come to Michelino's
