On my recent trip to Eboli with my family we visited this wonderful restaurant set in the hills of Old Town Eboli. The owner/chef made many delicious local dishes and explained what they consisted of, He was so gracious and friendly. I hope to return to Eboli in the future and enjoy this lovely restaurant !!

After a couple of visits to this restaurant it is time to express my appreciation. Having top food, based on local ingredients, for honest prices, prepared and served by people with passion for their work in a cosy almost personalized environment, what more can you wish for? Sure, also the selection and the prices of wines are oké. I know some people are more for quantity than for quality and have no idea about the efforts it costs to be creative without being rediculousâ¦. But for those who are in to true gastronomy: this is a place to visit! And don't worry; normal stomachs are filled quite satisfying :-)I will be back a lot of times if this restaurant is continuing on the same level.

My husband and I lead cycling tours in Italy. We were scouting locations for an upcoming trip and found ourselves in Eboli on Valentine's Day. After being turned away from several restaurants we found Ristorante Piazzetta Santa Sofia. Unfortunately they too were completely booked but instead of just sending us away one of the owner's walked with us to a few different restaurants nearby to see if she could find us a table. No luck but what an incredible gesture on a busy night!Fast forward to May when we arrived with a group of 30 people. The restaurant is located in the historic section and a short walk from the city center. The chef had worked with us to create a delicious menu that did not disappoint! My favorite was the orechhiette and buffalo in a parmesan bowl - Orechhiette con salsiccia di bufalo e provola affumicata in cialda di formaggio! This was the best dinner of the trip and look forward to going back!

I went here in July 2013 actually and it was great for me because I was so sick of pasta having already been in Italy for some time. It is the only "true" pub in Italy and they have a unique selection of German beer that can only be found at Geminus pub.

At 500 meters from the center of Eboli, in the green of the hill St. John, the cts Ginetti Restaurant, offers the opportunity to taste delicious dishes of Italian cuisine and pizzas with buffalo mozzarella, the struutura is equipped with soccer field and
I had been there before for the pizza, this time, on our way to the Certosa di Padula, we stopped at Ristorante Ginetti again. Actually we wanted to go there for pizza, but when I saw what they were eating at the table next to us, we opted for an early Dinner. The place is close to the Autostrada exit, just before entering the city of Eboli. A little not easy to find up the hill, but, once there, the food makes you forget it. The place has also an outdoor and a large pool they were readying for the June opening, so we ate inside. We had delicious Mozzarella di Bufala and ricottine for antipasto, shared a parmigiana di melanzane, a plate of penne with mushrooms, a side dish of zucchini flowers dumplings, fried and slightly stuffed. Everything delicious over a bottle of red. The dessert was an extra delicacy: little babà au rum so good that made us visit the Pastry Shop where they came from. We inquired and it was from the brother of the owner who runs a Pastry Shop in the city center so we decided to stop there and order some cakes to pick up coming back from our excursion to Padula. But more on that in another review.

Initially I was very surprised that a kebab house would be rated the best place to eat in Eboli, but after eating there I whole heartedly agree. The food is amazing and incredible value, as well as made fresh to order. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. Eat here!

My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch here at Matassa. The service was perfect. They were very helpful with helping us select traditional dishes without making us feel like tourist. All was delicious. Great afternoon.
