Was a little disappointed with this restaurant. We went around lunch time and there were only like 5 people in the place. Our waiter was extremely rude and had a major attitude like he didn't want to be working. We ordered two sandwiches which came out exactly as ordered and tasted good. Nothing out of the ordinary. They have huge homemade cookies when you walk in...didn't get a chance to try this time around but if I go back I will be sure to pick one up for the road trip back home.

From their humble beginnings on South Main Street in Waterbury to now multiple locations throughout the state of Connecticut, Nardelliâs Grinder Shoppe continues to satisfy the need for fast and delicious meals. You can count on quality ingredients, huge
I heard so much about Nardelli's Grinder. I finaly stopped by for lunch and I was under-whelmed by the food. Great selection almost to much to absorb and make a quick decision. Was hoping for a better experience. To bad!Velma Sue,Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry to hear that you didn't love your experience with us. We can appreciate that there are many menu items to choose from and that a first visit can be a little overwhelming. We suggest taking a look at our website www.nardellis.com and looking over the menu prior to your next visit. We can also highly recommend that you try our Italian Combo grinder. It is one of our favorites. It's especially good when you order it with "Everything" - that includes hot sauce! We hope that you know that next time, our staff is happy to help guide you to a good choice based on your preferences. We do hope that you will stop in and visit us again and give us another chance to wow you! Our customers mean a lot to us and we always do what we can to make it an awesome dining experience. Grazie!~ Nardelli's Grinder Shoppe

I had the shrimp and scallop Scampi. It was delicious! Although anything utilizing butter, garlic, white wine and capers can never be anything but delicious. The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection! My husband ordered two appetizers for dinner in anticipation of sharing my scampi but he was too full to eat much! His bruschetta was delicious although a drizzle of balsamic reduction would have added to that deliciousness. The calamari was not as good. Tasted like frozen right out of a bag delivered by Sysco. My friend raved about the stuffed shells as did her husband about his carbonara. From the other end of the table I spied another friend's grilled chicken salad which looked yummy. The portions are very generous and prices reasonable. My husband really liked their marinara sauce which is high praise as he very rarely likes restaurant sauce. I will definitely be back!

Summary: the good: the food. The bad: everything elseThe Bad: 1. They use their paper, tri-folded, menus as the menus in the restaurant. Iâve never seen that before, even in the dumpiest of restaurants2. I sat at one of their high top tables. The chairs didnât have foot rests so even at 6â2â tall, my feet dangled above the floor. I finally found a chair with a foot rest at another table and made the switch3. After ordering and receiving a soda (the bar was âunder renovationâ supposedly), I waited 15 minutes for a waitress to take my order. There were 3 wait staff there for 5 tables at the time!4. The menu said for a slight upcharge, you could have either soup or a salad with your meal. There were no soups on the menu and when I asked, the waitress said they didnât have any soup5. After I got and paid for the check (with cash since I saw the wait staff struggle with other customers credit cards, swiping them multiple times), it took 15 minutes to bring back my change6. The decor of the restaurant was from the early 1970âs. The Good: 1. The Vodka Rigatoni was Fair/OK. The salad was good. The food did not overcome the rest of the experience.

Modern American cuisine..All fish served wild caught, never frozen.. All beef products grass fed . ( Piedmontese beef line from Nebraska.. All vegetable hand sourced from Exec chef Lucas Kyriakos..
Four us us arrived at about 4:00 for Happy Hour. When we seated outdoors, the waitress brought dinner menus. We asked for and received happy hour menus. The selections were such that to satisfy your appetite, you needed to order two. The calimari was especially delicious as were the sliders. The drinks were good as was the service. Before departing, we took a look inside the old building an met the owner who was an very interesting and informative person. All in all, we will be going there in the future. Old Wethersfield is a beautiful area in Connecticut and worth a visit just to see the homes.

Went here for dinner. We were in the mood for Italian and people in the office suggested Carboneâs.We drove through Hartford to get there and were able to find a place on the street to park. It looks as though they do have a parking lot, but am not sure if it is complimentary or not.We walked in and even though we did not have reservations we were seated immediately. This is a white table cloth kind of place and some of the prices do reflect that. The service was constant, friendly and helpful without being overbearing. It is an Italian restaurant so they are numerous Italian dishes and a lot of tough choices to make. After reviewing the menu I narrowed my choices down to 3. After speaking with our server I eliminated 1 and finally decided on the Rigatoni Bolognese. It is beef, pork, tomato-cream ragu, homemade ricotta and arugula. Before dinner came they did deliver a basket of bread with a house made oil.Our entrees arrived a short while later. There was an adequate portion of pasta and a very large dollop of the homemade ricotta, and in my opinion too much arugula.I mixed about half of the ricotta mixture in to the pasta and ragu mixture. My work associate gladly took the other half. The mixing in of the ricotta gave the dish a little more creamy texture. Overall a very good dinner.

bin228 a.k.a. "the bin" is a cozy wine bar in downtown Hartford serving small plates, risotto, panini and offering over 55 wines by the glass in addition to a full bar.
We ordered 3 different small plates- both the cauliflower and brussel sprouts were served luke warm, lacking appeal and would not recommend. The lamb meatballs were good but like the wine, very much overpriced. The restaurant atmosphere is charming and cozy and could have so much potential if they upgraded their food and reduced the wine glass prices.

We ate here before the women's basketball game against South Carolina. The food was consistently excellent, we had a very good bottle of wine, and everything was delivered quickly enough so that we had plenty of time to get to the Civic Center (officially, now the XL Center.) I had the roasted chicken ravioli, which comes with a tangy brown sauce that was excellent. My wife had the shrimp scampi, which was also excellent. The other couple was very happy with their salmon and the carbonera. Shout out to Nick S for excellent service.

We stayed at the Marriott overnight and ate here out of sheer convenience. Wowâwere we pleasantly surprised! Typical hotel breakfast buffet, but the food was actually delicious! Freshly made waffles, pancakes and omelets were made to order, the scrambled eggs on the buffet line were fluffy and warm, the bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes were flavorful and also warm, nice selection of fresh fruits and delicious ripe berries. There wasnât anything super exciting about the menu, but it was excellent for a hotel breakfast buffet and we would gladly return on another visit. The service was also wonderfulâfriendly and attentive across the board.

Food and service were great. Price of food is a great value. I would recommend this place. Myself and another person had the Diver Scallops w/fried rice & shrimp. Scallops ere cooked perfectly and rice was a nice and tasty addition.
