A group of 8 of us werenât in town for a bachelorette party and the hospitality that the restaurant provided exceeded our expectations! When we first sat down, we received complementary champagne, appetizers, not to mention impeccable service from our waiter, Bryan! He made our night so wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Austin, Texas area

I had lunch here recently with some business colleagues. We arrived a little after noon on a weekday, there was a small crowd but we were seated immediately. The restaurant space is small and rustic, but in a charming and welcoming way. Our server was a bit distracted and was slow to check in on us, but we had lots to discuss so that wasn't a big problem for us.We all ordered pizzas, they came out pretty quickly and they were delicious. The sausage was great, but the crust was what really made the pizza stand out. It's a bit on the expensive side for pizza, but not outrageously so, and especially given the downtown location. Highly recommend!

Fresh-made pasta, fresh seafood, slow-cooked meats, and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza are the traditional comfort-food classics that Italians have been roasting, baking, curing and making in their own kitchens for generations. OP Italian is a revitalized co
This restaurant is located in the JW Marriott downtown Austin. The atmosphere felt upscale and we sat near outside which was great. The pasta with bolognese sauce was superb. The nitro coffee drink that was recommended by our server Charles was good as well. Servers can make or break your experience and Charles did a great job making recommendations and being pleasant and attentive. I recommend this place if you're downtown.Hello iam_intrigued, Charles is an amazing bartender and we're glad that he took care of you and recommended the delicious nitro coffee. We also have amazing after dinner drinks that we'd love for you to try as well. We look forward to seeing you again!Warmest Regards, the OP Italian Team

This restaurant has been around quite a while, which for Austin, that is saying something, as the culinary competition can put anyone out of business easily. Vespaio was on the best restaurants list years ago and I recently took my family there for a birthday celebration and we had a fantastic experience. We had the pappardelle bolognese, the octopus and ravioli, the slow roasted beef with risotto, and the lasagna and all were fantastic. Also some of the best calamari as well as burrata I've ever had. They even made a pizza for my 9 year old that was a big hit ("best ever"). Great service, great atmosphere and location (there is parking in the back!) and great food. Highly recommend!

We had a nice dinner with friends here recently. My husband and I used to eat here all the time when we lived two blocks away but we moved and now we don't get here as often any more. The table started with the Botticelli bread. Our friends are still talking about it. I got a Caprese and it is one of my favorite in the city. My entrée wasn't good for me. I got the Capesante e Tartufo Risotto which is Scallops on Risotto. For my taste it was way too salty. The waitress stated it was it was because truffle oil. I have had plenty of truffle oil but I never thought it was salty. However, you know it is a good restaurant when they comp the entrée and offered me a desert. That was above and beyond and they didn't need to do that. My husband enjoyed his Bolognese and I got a few bites as well. Our friends enjoyed their entrees even though I don't remember what they got. We finished with a couple of deserts and some Limoncello. Made the reservations via Open Table. Still one of our favorite places in the city. We all left saying we need to come back more often. It was a very nice evening.

I had read TA reviews and wanted to check this place out. Fortunately we found ourselves nearby at the Lucy in Disguise costume shop. We were seated out back on the dog friendly patio.(Though our dog was not with us) Very neat atmosphere inside and out. Servers were friendly. We ordered a half and half pizza and it was excellent! Too much for us to eat so took some back to the hotel. Had a good beer also. Laid back, like the rest of Austin which we loved. Highly recommend!

We were seated in the bar area which was nice even though not in the main dining upstairs. Still intimate and a great experience as you can see the kitchen. It was our first evening there and we sampled the menu from appetizers to deserts and not one thing was a disappointment. The octopus a la plancha was tasty and not over cooked, hot and crispy country Italian bread was so delicious we had two servings. The house smoked trout bruschetta was a surprise and delight but the wood roasted meatballs took some over the top at the table. We had a pasta special with shrimp which was delicate and delightful and not to be missed is the Capelletti "Bishop Hats" which disappeared instantly. The wine selection was well rounded and cocktails shaken and stirred us up. Desert set the bar just a bit higher with the hot cream filled doughnuts that will leave you begging for more. For those who love chocolate, do not miss out on the hot chocolate gianduka cake, ridiculous!
