The menu is a sheet music that pleasantly combine folk's chords with the most avant-garde composition and modern solutions. Passwords at Tacabanda are professionalism, simplicity and originality that get along with an informal ambient and an unusual gastr
Late Saturday night dinner, found still several tables occupied (and a significant and excessive level of noise coming from them), but apart from that the rest was pure bliss. Good service and reasonable prices, a good prosecco to start a splendid âuovo frittoâ as an appetizer and cappellacci di bufala (with great salty anchovies) as main course. Both sublime, as it was a small selection of grilled seafood (mussels, octopus, etc..) on a sweet peas sauce. Quite delicate. Spectacular semifreddo al torroncino (obviously locally sourced, being Cremona the home of torrone)

This was a charming afternoon. We left Cremona for lunch at 1 PM, drove 15 minutes to Lago Scuro, just out of town, and returned at 5 PM. Lago Scuro is a working farm, agro-B&B and restaurant on the outskirts of Cremona in Lombardy. They produce a range of products from lovely, relatively young cheeses to many different fruits and vegetables. I met them first at the Farmers' Market in Cremona. The main house is also a fine restaurant on Saturday and Sunday. The menu includes only one choice, what is fresh that day, beautifully prepared. They were also one of the few places in all of Italy that bothered to prepare vegetarian secondi piatti! We began with bread and oil, the bread showing the salutary German influence of Northern Italy. We tasted some of the house rosso, which was uncommonly well made. Next, there was an antipasto course which was a kind of herb muffin with a lovely soft cheese baked inside. Then there was a pasta course of tortelli stuffed with spinach and ricotta with a dreamy parmesan cream. Secondi (for us vegies) were an eggplant torta featuring another of the farm's cheeses, followed by a salad of a very fresh, wild green I did not recognize and the waiter could not recall the name of. Finally dessert was a simple but well made chocolate cake, uniced, and served with whipped cream and almond brittle. After lunch we strolled around the grounds of this wonderful old cascina which used to house 15 families. The result is that the main house has an abundance of spacious dining rooms that are filled with no more than three tables per room, so even if a large family is seated one can have a private conversation in relative peace. The gardens were in their last days (it was 2 November) but there were still tomatoes hanging on the vines and an abundance of greens. There is also a small lake at the back of the property. As we left we had a lovely chat with the chef and owner who greeted each party as they left. As we drove back to Cremona, the low sun showered golden pink light over the hazy fields.

A wide variety of risotto most of them with that touch of Italian ingredients. We also had the buffet but definitely no space for second course. Totally recommended and the price is good for the quality offered.

I worked late an evening and we were hungry. We arrived at 22.00 and hoped to get food even if it was late. And yes we got it and it was no problem whatsoever. We tasted a fantastc risotto with amaretto and pumpkin, unbelieavable how tasty and good it was.

We experienced a very good outside dinner on the porch. Very good service and a good choice of tasty food and wines. It was a very quiet place, may be because the prices are on the high side.

The Torriani restaurant was unfortunately (for us) completely booked during our stay. It seems to be a very favourite place for people with good taste. We enjoyed the suite in the upper floor which was large, modern, had a huge, modern TV set with even international channels. Breakfast was ok. The view from the courtyard of the hotel towards the Torazzo (high tower of the church) was spectacular. Restaurant "La Botte" in a parallel street came to our rescue. It was good.

Ho provato qualche volta in pausa pranzo. Molto comoda l'opzione di poter ordinare prima i piatti su Whatsapp e dell'asporto. Porzioni abbondanti (è possibile anche ordinare una porzione baby), buone e fresche. Consigliato!
