We were fortunate enough to get a reservation here after multiple attempts. It is a fixed 5 course meal ($65) with wine pairings ($15 per person per glass) with each course. The atmosphere was very nice and personal (family run joint). The owner personally meets all the guests and explains each meal and wine pairing. Our first three courses were fantastic, especially the fresh mozzarella. The next two were good, but not great for the price point. Unfortunately, this was not a 5 star experience for the price you pay and it would take several improvements to become one. It would have been nice to have the wine, which was amazing, decanted and room temperature instead of cold (especially the reds). Cloth instead of paper napkins and new silverware with each coarse. Lastly, the owner speaks at lightning speed when describing the wine/meal and it feels you're being rushed at times.

I have been twice in the last 2 months. Most of the entrees and appetizers are delicious. Unfortunately for me, I ordered the veal chop twice. I forgot that the first time I order the veal chop it was fried with a cream sauce on top. Well the waiters tell you the specials, they do not mentioned that it is a breaded fried veal chop. So the second time, I ordered the veal chop again forgetting about the fried veal chop. As soon as the waiter put the veal chop in front of me, I remembered my disappointment from the first time. Veal chops in Rhode Island should be broiled not fried. I just had veal chop tonight from a different restaurant in Providence; It was exceptional, broiled and delicious.

Camille's has been a Rhode Island dining landmark since 1914. Executive Chef John Granata's masterful versions of classical Italian dishes, melded with eye-popping creative fare amazes guest on a nightly basis.
We were visiting friends from Portsmouth RI. They said this was a nice restaurant and they had been there a few times before. This trip was disappointing. The veal Marsala $31.00 was tough as well as the Veal Parmigiana, capellini $31.00. The Gnocchi $20.00 was doughy. The Crab Ravioli $30.00 was OK but nothing special. The service was fine. The wine list is quite extensive (Wine Spectator award) but they are expensive.$64.00 for a $17.00 Nebbiolo that I have purchased retail at more than one shop. All and all this was a disappointment when looking forward to a nice dinner in a classy setting. We probably won't return.

We learned of this restaurant from a tour operator and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. Excellent food, service and bar, with good wine selections. Expensive, but worth the price. From Joseph + Esther DeQuattro of Pane Vino comes the much anticipated Massimo. Massimo brings the quintessential Italian trattoria to Providenceâs Federal Hill Neighborhood. Offering a seasonal Italian menu inspired by the regional cuisines of Italy. Sig
I will never have carbonara pasta again. Because no carbonara will ever be as good as the one I ate last week at Massimo. Phenomenal. The gluten-free penne was not extraordinary on its own (apart from its existence, which was wonderful!!), but the sauce was just incredible. My gluten-ful friend enjoyed her ravioli dish--we quit talking and ate for a solid half hour, because it was so excellent. We also ordered a celiac-friendly caprese special for an appetizer that might be the best caprese either of us had ever had. The tomatoes were juicy and fresh, the mozzerella was the perfect texture, and the basil was bright and fresh.I may go back to Rhode Island just to have this meal again. The service was excellent, and our desserts (gluten free chocolate cake/fudge for me!) and cocktails were spot-on.

Joseph and Esther DeQuattro introduced Pane e Vino to Providence, RI in 2002. Grounded in the spirit and tradition of Southern Italy, at Pane Vino youâll find your favorite dishes expertly prepared and served in a rustic but elegant setting. Combining the
The interior had an authentic Italian trattoria feel. There was an extensive wine list and a nice selection by the glass. The veal Marsala was delicious with an abundance of mushrooms but the fontina potato cakes were the star. The chicken carciofi had beautifully turned artichokes. Excellent service. Dear Andrew,Thank you so much for this rave review. Weâre so glad you enjoyed your entire experience with us. Please come back in again soon! Cheers!

The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and efficient and the cost was very reasonable ($33/person), considering that we had all we wished for. There was so much food that the waitresses brought out some takeaway containers and simply scooped the leftovers into them for us, so we could take it all home. Consequently, we had my delicious Aubergine/Eggplant Parmesan for lunch the next day and were happy all over again!

When we lived here we used to go here quite often but haven't been there in a few years. The food was as good as always....we had a pastrami pocket & a meatball & pepper torpedo. The bread is made there & very good. Only a couple bits of caution: the ice tea is horrible & the air conditioner was on about 58 but luckily had jackets in the car (wasn't even a hot day outside!) The waitress did take the ice teas off our bill & replaced with sodas.

An inspired Italian restaurant, our focus at Avvio is on fresh, simple ingredients. Prepared with distinct, yet traditional cooking techniques, our menu features Italian classic dishes along with true Neapolitan pizzas, fresh Italian salads and wood-fire
Atmosphere is lovely. Busy bar scene. Immaculate, excellent service. I never had to request more water. Bread sticks and bread upon request. Choices for vegan and gluten free. Handicap accessible. Veal parmigiana was very good. Wonderful sauce/gravy for the pasta. The Pasta Con Pollo was good, but was weak on the chicken portion. Chicken pieces were very small and thin; much was over cooked.Thank you Bobbie. Thanks for the very kind review and we are glad you enjoy it here at Avvio. We are always glad to know our service makes a good impression. We will share your feedback on the Pasta con Pollo with our culinary team. They are always listening to guest feedback to find out how we can keep getting better. We hope you come back and join us again. Gratefully,Raul EstevesGeneral Manager
