La Gondola was recommended to me from a local as a good pizzeria. We ordered 2 pizzas - 1 margarita and 1 four seasons to take away. On arrival to collect, the staff was barely smiling and welcoming. I could see they had a full house and were probably stressed but a simple "Bonsoir" is always a nice way to greet people. The two pizzas were of a good size, however, the toppings seems to be congealed on the pizza (4 seasons) and frankly it was hard to identified what ingredients the pizza was really made of. Overall I have had better experience ordering from le Kiosque a Pizza (a cheap chain of take away pizza) than this called authentic Italian Pizzeria. Disappointed!If you think that the ingrediets are congealed I think you got to continue to eat cheap pizza in te kiosque. When you usually eat cheap food you cannot understand homemade food. Fortunately there is a lot of peoples yet who want to eat a good homemade food and they appreciate it....they make the difference... BONSOIR..... :)

My husband and i have a holiday home near Clamecy, we have been eating regularly at La Tour for 9 years now. The new young owners who took over about 18 months ago are fantastic and Jennifer is a great cook. The re vamped bar / restaurant is clean, welcoming and bustling and very French. The menu formule for the pizzas, which are delicious, is great value. The wine is a little expensive, so we opt for a 50cl carafe, which is very drinkable. The terrace in summer is a great place to sit,enjoy a beer, eat and watch the world go by and has certainly benefited from new modern tables,chairs and large parasols. We have eaten here all year round and the food and service is consistently excellent. A real little find. Bon appetite

We visited this restaurant three different times during our stay in Clamecy. The pizza are delicious and the salads generous. The entreé are also delicious and reasonably priced. The local wine selection is good and also reasonably priced. The service is quite friendly, and this place seems particularly popular with the weekday office lunch crowd.
