Entrati per un aperitivo intorno mezzogiorno abbiamo preso due bicchieri di vino rosso della casa. Il proprietario ci ha preparato dei taglieri di prodotti locali in formato micro.. qualche chiacchiera e abbiamo preso altri due bicchieri. Insomma atmosfera familiare, vino di produzione propria, ma prezzo da rinomata enoteca.. totale 20 euro

At 8.15 this back street pizzeria in the mountain town of Barrea was buzzing and we were glad to be found a table. The youthful staff were helpful and enthusiastic, the house wine was very reasonable and drinkable and then there was the pizza......... sadly I have had few excellent pizzas in Italy - too often the base is soggy or the toppings meagre but finally I found a pizza that I couldn't fault. Generous in size and toppings, crisp but not too friable - why can't all the pizzas I eat be as good as this???? A lovely shared dessert, two espressos and the bill was STILL only â¬25. What a bargain. If you are anywhere near Barrea please try this little gem out. As we left there were people queuing out of the door - so if there is a caveat - it is go early or expect a wait.

Hidden near the Wolf Camping, this restaurant really worth it !! I had succulent skewers (« sticks ») of lamb and mutton!!! The restaurant is offering km0 and very local meals. A Must in this fantastic région for nature lovers

Visited out of peak season so only a menu of pizza availableWe both opted for 'pizza rosso' and felt that the tomato paste 'layer' was too thick making the pizza base soggy. Having spent the previous few days in Napoli it was certainly below the standard of anything we had there.The staff were friendly and the cellar conversion housing the restaurant is attractive

Albergo degli Olmi is the warmest most welcoming restaurant in Villetta Barrea. Every time we come to Abruzzo, we make a point of stopping by in order to taste their amazing homemade pasta with wild boar, their delicious grilled meats and the best desserts in the region. Over the course of the past 20 years we have never once been disappointed. An absolute gem and I highly recommend a stop by here.

Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent price and service! The red house wine is a must!! We had gnocchi with sausage and cheese, and a few different pllates of meat for seconds, and a few jugs of wine and didnt break 25e a head!

We had a very nice lunch at La Poiana. The restaurant smartly has large windows providing stunning views of the lake and the town of Barrea. The grilled vegetables were an outstanding starter. The Gnocchi with cabbage and potato puree and the the walnut pesto pasta with local mushrooms were excellent. As advice, note that it can be very warm (even on this Autumn day) if your sitting directly in front of the large windows. A worthwhile visit on travels through the area.

We stayed at the enclosed B&B (named Gli Orti) and had dinner in the Restaurant. We found the Restaurand very good for food choice and quality. The ambience is also very nice. The village itself is surely worth a visit as it is still authentic. All and all an excellent choice for your lunch/dinner in the area
