We ate at the Caffe a few weeks ago while in the area. We were hungry early, so couldn't wait until the usual 7:30 dinner hour. We stopped in here, since it's a pub and they have a nice wine selection and some pub food. When we asked the waitress for a menu, she was not pleased that we wanted something other than drinks at 6:30. They do offer burgers and we got a really tasty Chianina beef burger. Too bad the grumpster left a bad taste in our mouths.

The experienced crew met us at door. The menu was in two parts; one short single page with 5 primi and 4 secondi to choose from. There were also 5 contorni. The second menu is 8 pages of pizza (4-5 Euro each), and bruschetta. We had a white pasta primo (1), and a secondo Oven roasted Rosemary chicken (1), and roasted peppers. With bread, water, and the Coperto the bill was 20 Euro. This was so much food we had to bypass the gelato stands on our way back to our room. The food was delicious, and homemade by experienced chefs. I doubt that we'll go anywhere else during our stay in Citta Della Pieve.

I used to say you can't get a bad meal in Italy, but the meal we had at Dandy's was the exception. It must have been an off night since we went based on Trip Advisor reviews. We went on a not busy week night, but the service was slow and spotty and the food was not what we expected. We were a large group, but split up into smaller tables. Interestingly no one in our group enjoyed their meals. I had the gnocchi which did not have the ridges to hold the sauce, but were instead little lumps of really hard, undercooked dough which I did not finish. None of us wanted to go beyond the past course so I don't know if other choices would have been better.

Typical local, home-made pasta, truffle Frsco, porcini mushrooms, wild boar, hare, snails, steak Chianina IGP, Saffron, Ostrich, Fish, Pizza for lunch.
Pizzas are delicious, very thin, crispy and big and a fantastic bargain. We have taken their pizzas to go back to the villa we are staying in and it is an economical and super yummy lunch. We have been in many spots in Italy over the past two weeks and this pizza is definitely up there in terms of quality and deliciousness. Very nice owner/staff as well. They are open for lunch and then close for awhile in the afternoon until dinner time. Highly recommended.Grazie grazie grazie, tornate presto, vi aspettiamo alla Taverna del Perugino

Visited a number of times during a 2 week stay and had great food each time. Fab antipasti, great selection of pastas, and another mention for the super turbot. Luca and his team were charming each time, very accommodating with a large party lunch booking, and genuinely engaging with us - especially the kids. Mostly Italian dinners too - always a good sign. Cannot recommend strongly enough.

Organic Food and Fusion Cousine.
Had lunch in this amazing bistrot. The space has a spectacular view of the valleys and mountains. Not only was the view spectacular but the food was as well. Would never expect delicious chicken curry in the heart of Italy. All local purveyors and excellent wine to compliment the food. The chef is fantastico!!!!

We spent a fun week in Citta della Pieve. Every evening we went to Il Vin Verso for drinks starting off with a glass of Prosecco and then moving to a great selection of wines including Rosso di Montefalco and Rosso di Montepulciano. Alberto's enthusiasm is catching and it is matched by his knowledge. We also ate there one night. He produced a fine selection of food to match the 5-6 different wines he gave us. What fun.

I was very eager to take my friends to Bruno's as well as not having been back myself for a few years. Located on a central street of Citta' della Pieve, it offers a lovely decor and ambiance (upstairs and downstairs dining rooms), very very good service and excellent Umbrian and Tuscan dishes. The service is excellent and staff very nice and helpful. The locale was completely restructured a few years ago with great taste and also keeping the original frescos on the ceilings in the upper rooms of what was originally a medieval house.

On our first night of our Tuscany adventure we wanted something a little special and the owner of our Villa recommended Chiostro Cennini - it did not disappoint! On arriving we were warmly greeted by Lucia and guided through the large wooden doors of the ancient town into a beautiful rustic courtyard filled with music and laughter. The first port of call, to meet her mother and father who has prepared snacks for all the dinner guests - it was wonderful! and set the tone for the rest of the evening. The food was excellent, the local wine was lovely and but it was the atmosphere that just grabbed you and pulled you in - it was a lovely, warm, welcoming, relaxing and oh so enjoyable. My only regret is that we did not get to return - a week in Sarteano is just not long enough!
