This place is humming with lots of satisfied customers. The evening we went it buzzed with atmosphere. Staff up beat and engaging laughing and joking with customers and flying through the service.With defrul entrecote, great veg, creme brulee was superb. Great to see and experience any establishment that us really on fire. Great Great Great!

Got pizza which was great with good fresh veg. The menu offers small and large fries. The large is indeed LARGE! So be warned. Toilet is accessed by going outside round the back. Interesting! Good value for money so worth a visit.

We had lunch at La Taverne during our three day stay in Castellane. The food was excellent, portion sizes were huge, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were lovely (even tolerating us practicing our French). I'm a huge carnivore and this was the best steak I've ever eaten... Super juicy, super tender, and cooked perfectly medium-rare. The chèvre chaud salad was also fantastic, but if you're ordering a salad as an entree then order one to share - they're enormous!

Extraordinaire !! Des assiettes copieuses, originales, préparées au moment de la commande avec des produits on ne peut plus frais et aux saveurs incomparables !! Bravo !! Ce fut un pur régal, depuis le pain, absolument délicieux, jusquâà la salade de fruits hyper frais , sucrés et délicieux, sans oublier une méga « assiette tapas » avec carottes râpées, salade verte, avocat, champignons, artichauts marinés, tomates, ....fromages aux herbes et ... une super tapenade ....!! Après cette assiette bien garnie, la salade de fruits nature et hyper frais fut un vrai délice !!Ce fut si bon que ns avons fait quelques emplettes : diverses catégories de tomates, pastèque , et.... évidemment....du pain ..., un pain délicieux qui sent bon le levain...! Il y a du choix, ns avons opté pour le pain au lin et grains de tournesol !!Bravo à toute lâéquipe fort sympathique, à lâécoute, et qui a à cÅur le « bien manger » !!Lieu à ne pas manquer si vs passez par Castellane !! Ce sera bien sûr notre cas

Located on the busy / noisy main road close to the pedestrianised centre.The service is efficient and friendly. The pizzas are excellent and inexpensive. A couple of us had the plat du jour of lasagne which was somewhat too much tomato and not enough meat.
