This place will always hold a very special place in my heart because my partner and I got engaged here. :) When we arrived, around 9 p.m., the place was full and we had to wait for approximately half an hour for a table. While we waited we noticed that all guest here are locals, so bear in mind that this is not one of those typical 'places for tourists.' As for food, it must definitely be commended - we had one of the best pizzas ever tasted, as well as excellent scrambled eggs with black truffles and a very good salad. House wine was good as well. Service is a bit slow and don't expect anything special as far as interior decoration goes, although everything is tidy. There is a Green Lake (Lago Verde) right in front of the object where you take a nice romantic stroll. Prices are reasonable.

This restaurant is one of the most traditional ones in the Prato area. You can taste a lot of traditional dishes. The location is quite outside the city, you need the car to reach that but I can ensure you that the view you can see through the windows while you are eating is fantastic, awsome! The food is very good, explecially pasta and meat (I suggest to try the wild pig dish). Very low prices.Enjoy it!

We had lunch at this amazing place. My husband, I and our two kids were driving by a bit late for lunch. Even though we at that time were the only people in the restaurant we were met with great hospitality and the most amazing homemade pasta with local Tuscan ingredients and local wines and a homemade aperitif were served. The little symphony of deserts was just as amazing. Thanks to Casa Le Bandite for this wonderful gourmet experience and hospitality. We are happy to have you as guests and honored that everything was perfect. We look forward to your next visit to Tuscany. Thank you!The Staff

Four of us enjoyed a 3 hour three course lunch at this beautiful establishment. Very much out of the way of the tourist trail as evidenced by us being the only English speakers and no English menus. Didn't matter as my daughter is an expert in the language. You can eat inside or outside on the deck overlooking the hills and mountains. I rarely find that 4 people each sing the praises of their main course at the one time. This happened here. Dishes ranged from Venison, very tender, to the best sea bass, full of flavour, moist and perfectly presented with sliced potatoes and mushrooms. Others included slow cooked pork which was voted excellent, and pigeon which was delectable. Appetisers included scallops and a flan of artichokes and seafood sauce. Deserts were all top notch. This place is a winner. Good food and great wine list, including our favourites from Avignonesi winery.

My sister in law brought us to this restaurant as she is a local and strongly recommended. My brother in law was under the weather and couldn't join us but it also is a favorite of his. Must say it didn't disappoint. The service was outstanding. You don't have to worry if you don't speak Italian. They will take care of you. Good beer selection as well. My son was ill and we had to bring him take out. He really liked his spaghetti. My daughter that it was the best she has so far. A must choice if you are In the area.

The Ghirighio is a restaurant nestled in Valdibisenzio. The furniture in chestnut and a rustic, but ricerato, make the climate warm and welcoming. Our cuisine combines the traditional Tuscan cuisine, linked to local products, all 'innovation and research
Nice located restaurant situated up the hill next to the road to the small town of Migliana in Cantagallo. We had both homemade pasta, risotto and filet. All was delicious cooked and served with a smile. The chef of the kitchen can translate the Italian menu card into English and help you if you have any questions. The suggested wine complimented our food. For dessert we had "Flan con ciocolata bianco". Absolute perfect!Worth a visit!!!

This restaurant in Castelluccio in the hills about Porretta Terme served me some of the best meals I ate in Italia. Maybe it was because Salvatore and Daniela feature the traditional Apennine-Emiliano dishes that you may not find elsewhere; or maybe it is the fact that everything they serve made with local grains, produce and meats; or maybe it is because they make you feel like you are eating in their home. Whatever, this is an eating experience you should not miss. In the five days I spent there I had wild boar (cinghiale), rabbit (coniglo), pork roast (porchetta) and several types of local salami, sausage and mortadella. The pastas were every bit as delicious: tagliatelle bolognese, tortalloni (filled with local ricotta) with butter and salvia), stascinati (you may not find this on other menus). It got to the point I could not choose from all they offered, so I told them to decide for me and they never delighted with A surprise everytime. Their dolci are unrivaled: a fig torte, chestnut torte, strawberry torte, a dark chocolate cake that was fabulous. Just when you think you are done they will bring out homemade limoncello and other traditional "digestivi". Take a detour from the tourist trail and see the Real Italia. They operate a 10 room pensione above the restaurant and the town offers a slice or Italia that few people will see; and those how do will not forget the experience. If you like hiking/trekking the chestnut and beech forests above the town provide plenty of options for excursions in the fresh mountain air where you will find cool spring sprouting out everywhere (yes it is safe to drink). In season you will find several varieties of mushrooms everywhere and chestnuts by the basket full. The rooms may not be the best you will find in Italia but you will find that most of your time will be spent in the dining area and strolling about.Beyond the food and beautiful surroundings I found that the people of Castelluccio, especially Daniela and Salvatore, to be the friendliest I met in my six weeks of travel. Don't miss this place!
